te Name Probably, we'd never have decided to visit that village-like small town of Wisła in the deep south of Silesia close to the border with the Czech Republic. Not many reasons to live there or as some of Wisła's residents say a place with no face in the middle of nowhere. Nevertheless, Wisła is situated in the heart of nature, amidst hills and mountains and does attract numerous people looking for rest and relaxation throughout the year. And there is more in Wisła's vicinity: picturesque villages with appealing pubs and historic towns like Bielsko-Biała and Cieszyn! Since emigration from the area dates back to the 19th century it is even unclear which nationality emigrants of the respective time belonged to. Wisła has seen numerous rulers in its long past... Some of those emigrants left their native lands for good to find a better life and work in the New World, it is their descendants who try to discover family roots during an individual trip accross this region currently. It must have been for a reason that we booked our accomodation at Hotel Wisła Premium. An attribute used to create an extremely positive impression and high-end expectations? Well, at first it took us full two hours to cover the distance of not more than two miles from one end to the other end (where the hotel is), all within the city zone - a road construction project with numerous lights that has outbreaked drivers for like three years! Some brief notification on the hotel's website could possibly help visitors to make arrangements accordingly. When we finally arrived at the property Ms Magda, a lovely young receptionist, cordially welcomed us and checked us in. She even assisted us carrying our bags to our accomodation. Sponaniously, as the hotel does not have any trolleys available. How kind! We found our guestroom with its refurbished bath-room and a small balcony in perfectly clean condition. The king bed provided restful sleep. Unfortunately, the doorlock was broken so we could not use our electronic key-card. To fix this issue Ms Magda delivered a „regular“ room key to us. Problem solved! We also experienced a suspension of water supply lasting for hours one evening and with no prior notice. And the only elevator taken out of service interminably for an entire day. Another lack of communication? In the past Hotel Wisła Premium used to be part of the Orbis chain of hotels which is „rich in history“ so it could well be that some repair backlog occurs from time to time. We started our days with breakfast from the buffet at the hotel restaurant where an extremely attentive and smart waitress, Ms Diana, took the best of care for us while the buffet itself was kind of „limited“, sometimes even insufficiently loaded, at least for a premium host. Hiking and mountaineering can take a toll from people, especially from those who are not used to this kind of activities. But Hotel Wisła Premium can provide some remedy!
