Cocogiri Island Resort Maldives

This is our 3rd time to visit Maldives. Here is our honest review comparing to the 2 other resort which we stayed before. Pros - beautiful house reef with a lot of colorful fish and sea turtle - nice view from the water villa - comfortable bed - shower temperature and water pressure are stable - cozy island - staffs at dive center are friendly and super kind - incredible excursions We joined the shark tour and shipwreck tour, both of them are so beautiful, more than words can say. This is one of the best experience in my life. Cons - slow wifi. You can not even download the emails. If you are thinking to watch you tube, it is impossible. - all inclusive plan covers less drinks. - bad taste food. Only 1 buffet restaurant which has poor variations. Food tastes just like the frozen food in the dormitory. Nothing was delicious in 5days. - transfer waiting time is too long depends on your flight. In our case from airport to resort they made us wait 4 hours. From resort to airport, we arrived 3 hours earlier than we desired. - no hospitality. We complained about the waiting time to the manager but she did not listen to us at all. Moreover , never apologized, and made some excuses. This is not the professional way of service, or the manner which we expect for the resort. (We don’t mind it if this is the motel or hostel) - cleaning is not enough in common area. In the lobby desk there is a dust. When I touched the desk there was a lot of dust in my hand. Overall, I don’t recommend this resort unless you are super interested in the shark tour and shipwreck tour. We were pretty satisfied by the experience at the excursions and we thank to the kindness of the staff at Dive center. On the other hand, if I imagine in case the weather is bad and cannot join the excision or swim around house reef, there is nothing to enjoy there.

I want to tell you about something. Not about Vaavu Atoll. And not about Cocogiri Island Boutique Resort. Almost all the atolls in the Maldives are more or less the same: pristine white sand, dazzling turquoise ocean, warm as a baby's cradle, the most beautiful sunsets in the world... But the main thing we seek when traveling the world is empathy, compassion, the remarkable ability of some people to understand your feelings and respond to them. Such people are truly rare. Moreover, it's rare to encounter someone working in the service industry, required to listen to dozens of requests daily and attend to hundreds of details to ensure the flawless operation of a small resort hotel. 24 hours a day. At least 6 months of the season in the Maldives... And yet, to remain responsive and empathetic, as if she just met a close relative after a long separation. Her name is Tina. If you're lucky enough to stay at Cocogiri Island Boutique Resort, you'll definitely meet her and immediately understand what I mean. Such people are few, these wonderful people make the world kinder. And us, happier.

The island is so small feels exclusive. It is absolutely beautiful. The food is amazing and service is phenomenal. We had a couples massage and can honestly say it’s the best. The most relaxing holiday I’ve ever been on and made my 50th birthday so special

We have no other words than fantastic, from the moment we stepped off the speedboat to stepping back on it at the end of our holiday. This was truly a jaw dropping boutique stay, the accommodation, location, weather, food, wildlife and staff all 6* in our opinion. Tina the Manager is a pure gem daily going above and beyond for all guests and supporting her staff. We have already booked to return! X

First visit to The Maldives, and what can I say, it didn’t disappoint! Went with a few girls from my family, various ages and we absolutely loved it! We stayed in a water bungalow and the whole stay was just absolutely magical! I do feel some of your experience will depend on the weather and the weather wasn’t great for weeks leading up to our holiday, but thankfully our week near the end of January was bright sunshine every day and no rain! The staff here couldn’t do enough for you, Tina the manager excels herself, she’s just so so lovely, thank you for making our stay incredible Tina!! Massive thanks to the full team at CoCogiri you are all incredible people xx The home reef here is just absolutely out of this world!! We saw black tip and nurse sharks, an moray eel, a couple of turtles and various fish, it really is like finding nemo!! The excursions were fantastic and so are the dive team and water sports team that take part in those, super friendly and caring! Thank you for making our first time in the Maldives such an incredible one, it was absolutely a dream come true and we will never, ever forget it! Xxx

Just back from 10 days on this lovely island. We stayed in a beach villa which was clean and roomy with excellent Aircon, which was needed. The food here is incredibly good, different options at every meal and all of a very high standard. The desserts are exceptional! All the staff are kind and helpful especially the wonderful Tina. The shark and turtle snorkeling trip is a must! Be aware that this is a very small island which might not suit everyone but was just what we wanted.

Cocogiri Island Resort Maldives is a true gem in paradise! The staff, from the friendly faces at the front desk like Kevin, Rojta, and Deepa to the exceptional service provided by the general manager Tina, truly make you feel at home. Their warmth and genuine care for guests shine through every interaction. The barmen, Helal and Yugesh, are not only polite but go above and beyond to ensure your experience is enjoyable and memorable. The resort's location is simply breathtaking, with pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and stunning views that take your breath away. Every aspect of the sea, sand, and surrounding vistas adds to the overall sense of tranquility and luxury. Cocogiri Island Resort Maldives is a sanctuary where relaxation meets luxury, making it the perfect destination for an unforgettable getaway.

This was our first trip to the Maldives and the island of Cocogiri did not disapoint. We arrived by seaplane and the moment we landed we were greeted by the lovely smiling staff and the wonderful manageress Tina who all made our stay very special. The island is small and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt beaches and nature an amazing reef for snorkeling and diving. We booked 4 nights in an overwater villa and 6 nights in a beach bungalow, so pleased we did as we loved both especially the sunsets on the beach. Cocogiri is a small resort which suited us as we came here to relax and chill although we did pluck up the courage to book the snorkeling with sharks and turtles trip which is a must do.The food here was delicious great variety very tasty and different choices everyday I liked all the homemade breads , my wife especially enjoyed the wonderful choices of puddings. We had the holiday of a lifetime at Cocogiri absolutely loved our stay here and wished it was longer, the amazing staff are a massive asset to this place, making sure everyone has a fantastic memorable holiday experience, thanks everyone we will definitely be back 😀 xx

Stayed at Cocogiri with friends for 14 nights, all inclusive. From arrival at the reception jetty, via speedboat, to departure via seaplane, our stay was just fantastic. Small island with only 40 villas, one restaurant and one bar, so some people might find it too quiet, but we found it to be perfect. We had 2 beach villas next to each other. Very comfortable and spacious, with open air bathroom and the choice of undercover shower cubicle, bath and open to the sky shower. We had decided to opt for the beach villas instead of the water villas, as we preferred to overlook the beach, and we were not disappointed. From opening the villa doors onto the small patio area, the crystal clear ocean was a mere 20 steps across the sand. Early more sunrises were breath taking. Despite there only being one restaurant for breakfast, lunch and evening dinner, the choices available at every sitting was excellent. Choice of Asian and European dishes were both plentiful and delicious. The kitchen staff certainly do a fantastic job, as do the waiters, bar staff, reception staff, water sports guys and housekeeping. Everyone of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Activities included snorkelling around the house reef, kayaking, stand-up paddle boards and jet-skis, but the best activity everyone should do is the swimming with sharks trip. Absolutely jaw dropping, despite a little apprehension before hand, which was totally mis-placed. During our stay, our friend celebrated her 60th birthday, with a 4 course meal on the beach cooked to order rounding of the celebrations. First time to the Maldives, and it really exceeded our expectations. A truly awesome bit of paradise. Tina and her team do themselves proud. The one thing that I would like to see improved would be larger choice of cocktails as part of the AI package, but with house beer/rums/gins/wines to chose from too, this wasn't really an issue for us, plus you always have the choice to purchase other drinks and cocktails from the bar. Will we want to return? Absolutely!!!
