We stopped at the hotel on a Friday evening because our rental car had a flat tyre. The staff were exceptionally helpful (Wi-Fi, charging phones, recommending taxis) and we enjoyed a pleasant hour in the bar waiting for the recovery service.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch this afternoon. Roast dinner was perfect, fish dish as well and with the weather being perfect too, the views across to Islay were outstanding. Service was also right on the money, as was the bill! Could not recommend this place ang higher.

My husband and I have just spent another couple of days here. We have visited many times over the years and will continue to do so as long as possible. We were warmly greeted by Nick, Ian and the rest of the team like old friends. Our room was comfortable and adequate for our needs with a spacious en-suite. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner with very good helpings. It's always a highlight to be able to sit outside on the Terrace enjoying a refreshment in the sunshine while looking across the beach and sea towards Islay. The sunsets are stunning.

What a lovely hotel this is. Nick and Ian are terrific hosts, so friendly and accommodating. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The food, both breakfast and evening meals are exceptional. We did not need to eat anywhere else. Their staff are amazing. Lovely and friendly. We so enjoyed our stay. We do not often say this about any place but we will be back.

Second visit here, for Sunday lunch on a spectacular day - ALL the seasons in the space of 2 hours! Sunday roast special - everything beautifully cooked. Special mention for the delicious apple gravy served with the black pudding-stuffed roast pork. Super efficient and friendly service. Faultless!

Fantastic hotel very dog friendly lovely food staff are amazing made you feel so welcome the sunsets were beautiful we loved it great night's sleep bed really comfortable we booked again for September can't wait to go back again roll on September.

Fantastic stay at the Argyll, with the warmest of welcomes. We had a beautiful room looking out over the beach and a very warm welcome. There is an excellent range of local single malt whiskies the food is great. We also loved the paintings, sculptures and other pieces of art available in the lounge area. We can’t wait to come back.

A great 2 night stay. A great welcome when we checked in and it just continued from there. The hotel is very dog friendly which is perfect for us. We enjoyed having a few pre dinner sticks in the cosy bar. The dinners each evening were great, large portions. The breakfasts were quite magnificent, probably the best scrambled eggs ever? All in all a great stay, we will be back.

Lovely few days at this very dog friendly hotel, where dogs are welcome in all areas of the hotel! Our dog, Badger really appreciated the daily treats and quickly learned where to find them! He also enjoyed the beautiful beach on which the hotel stands and which is also dog friendly. Ian and Nick are justifiably proud of their hotel and work hard to make it comfortable and beautifully designed. The food is also outstanding, from the very varied home cooked breakfasts to the fantastically tasty evening meals.
