Hotel is conveniently located less than five minutes’ walk (with luggage) from Basel SBB. We were greeted by a genuinely friendly receptionist, who informed us that we had been upgraded. Well, we arrived at the “room,” which turned out to be a suite with dining/conference area, two bathrooms, a soaking tub, and a panaromic view of the Basel skyline. The dining/living area and bedroom were separate, each with individually controlled A/C. The weather was actually very cool and pleasant for late June, so the A/C was sufficient. That said, if it had been hotter, I’m not sure if the A/C in the bedroom would have quite enough for me, but I’m an extremely picky customer when it comes to air conditioning. In general, Switzerland is a tough place if you need your room at 19 Celcius/69 Farenheit. The living room, though, was able to get very cold. The in-house dining and beverage options were fantastic. There’s a more formal restaurant on the mezzanine above the lobby, where I enjoyed a great meal that worked around my dietary restrictions. Downstairs, there’s a patio restaurant/cafe, and a stylish indoor bar with a midcentury Milanese aesthetic. Honestly, I was surprised it wasn’t busier, but that might have been because we were staying midweek, right after Art Basel. Overall, I very highly recommend. Probably best suited to business travel, but it didn’t feel impersonal, or lacking in personality or style. On the contrary, it was comfortable and contemporary, with a few modernist touches that elevated the look and feel of the property.
The whole journey was amazing. Switzerland is the cleanest country I’ve been to and this hotel fulfills my expectations. There weren’t toothpaste in the room so I left a note asking for it and the staff left a post it note with dental amenities in our bathroom after we left. Cutest thing I’ve experienced, would highly recommend this room too!

The location is great, the only thing is quite loud because you can hear everything thats happening n the street, apart from that the location is great and loved the hotel and the restaurant is outstanding!!
ผผู้เข้าพักThe location is great, close to the Old Town and only minutes on foot from Barfuesserplatz. Parking at Steinen is also within relatively reasonable distance. The service was great and the staff very friendly. The rooms are modern, and what we especially appreciated were the separated shower and toilet, although we did miss additional opportunities to hang bath towels. Our room was to the front of the building and therefore somewhat noisy due to the proximity of the tram line, but I guess that's the caveat of such a central location. For breakfast there are two options: The full buffet breakfast at the Teufelhof across the street, or the coffee shop on the ground floor of the SET Hotel itself. We opted for the latter and loved their croissants. The corridors felt a bit bland, dark and ”hospital-like”, as my wife put it. A bit of colour would give it a somewhat friendlier touch. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and think it's an ideal place to stay for exploring the city.
The design, equipment and service standards are excellent. Our five night stay was only marred because we had opted to stay on a Saturday night. The hotel's website code of 'weekend vibes' and 'pulse of the city' had not prepared us to be kept awake (even with the thoughtfully provided ear plugs and sound cancelling triple glazing in the room) until 4am on Sunday by the pounding noise of the neighbouring bars and night clubs. From other guests we found out it had been the same on Friday night into Saturday morning too! The bass beats were so deep the room shook from time to time and the incessant noise reaching 98 decibels at its peak, prevented sleep until the very early hours of the following day. Whilst the ambiance, breakfast offering (although a little pricey as an add-on) and general levels of comfort were very high DO NOT stay there on Friday or Saturday night unless you expect to be up and about, enjoying the city's nightlife, until the very early hours of the following morning. Sunday to Wednesday nights were comparatively very quiet indeed with the sound proofing of the multiple glazed windows doing its job perfectly against the general hub-hub of a busy street filled with restaurants whose customers were dining outside. The hotel really should issue a specific warning about external noise levels on Friday & Saturday nights.
SSarahDntnI spent 2 nights in this hotel. I loved the water/coffee/fruit stations on each floor. I had a single room, size was good for my staying, it had everything I needed. The basin in the bathroom is a bit small, but it wasn't a problem. I didn't have a converter for the Swiss plug with me and the reception lent me one, this was very helpful. They have a case with all sorts of converters. The hotel is in a lovely part of Basel, close to the river, and in the room I found the Wickelfisch swim bag, in case I wanted to go for a swim. The room was clean although there was a bit of dust, I guess coming in from the window left open. The hotel doesn't have an AC but there was a dyson fan in the room and that helped with the hot temperature. I enjoyed the breakfast, good variety of cheeses, charcuterie, bread, boiled eggs and also fruits, porridge, granola, yoghurt. They also have a gluten free area. I would definitely book it again.
ผผู้เข้าพักI stayed at the Hotel Euler for 5 nights with my Father earlier this month. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal for our daily trips on the train to a nearby village to visit family. Service in the hotel was very good and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Two very minor comments are, firstly, that at breakfast it would have been nice if used plates/bowls had been cleared as we worked our way through the very good breakfast buffet. Secondly, there was only one pillow on the bed when we arrived and we had to ask for more. I think perhaps there could be two pillows as standard. We used the bar/lounge most evenings during our stay and it was a very nice, relaxed atmosphere especially with the pianist playing most evenings. No complaints at all and would certainly return if the opportunity arises. many thanks for making the Hotel a very pleasant place to stay.
QQJSabeWe only spent one night in Basel but thoroughly enjoyed it. This hotel helped make for a great stay. Traveling with five has had us mostly staying in Airbnb’s and a hotel is never as spacious. But we fit adequately in one of their rooms. The staff spoke perfect English and were incredibly helpful and kind. It was an easy 10-15 min walk to the Rhine for a swim on a hot afternoon and right across from one of the train stations - which also just happened to be near where we rented a car for the next leg of our journey. Very convenient!
