Altamont Court Hotel

The accommodation was not as depicted. First there is no couch in the room and we did not get a room with a balcony as requested. I went there a day before we checked in and spoke with a lady at the front desk on Thursday the 23rd, since the rest of my family was coming in on the 24th. She assured me that we will be on the same floor, the rooms we requested was available. On check in, none of this occurred and she never relayed our request. The room was barebone, the receptionist told us the photos shown on the websites needs to be taken down. Towels were skimpy, one has to beg for extra towels for a party of four. Fridge was unplugged and empty ! Initially on arrival, I small bottle of water given to each person on arrival and that was it ! For the stay ! One has to beg to get water. We ended up buying at the supermarket. The security was good. Exterior gardens need to be maintained. The linens have seen better days. The tiled floor was dirty in the room. We carried bedroom booties and they were so dirty from the floor that we had to discarded them before we left. Some cafeteria employees are nice, others are grumpy and slow. This would be nice place, if only they could upgrade the furniture and maintained the exterior. It takes for ever for the hot water to appear ! Location is the best-selling point for this small hotel. Security is 👍 great.

Breakfast was wonderful, rooms were ok. However, towels and rags were not enough.

Upon arrival there was not hot water, following morning went to breakfast, main menu was finished, offered off menu, I was horrified, spoke with manager, asked to go in room to check hot water, within our stay there was no hot water.

While some of the staff is friendly, quality and management systems seems lacking. The gym is a name, the electric cords for most machine were cut, the two with cord, not working properly. There is a bench press but no dumbbells, mats etc. Basically nothing for women. Kitchen service is dependant on the staff, catch or miss. Room cleaning was terrible. No cleaning for two days, when I complained, negative attitude from front desk. A trial to get some one to remove the two days old garbage. While they changed the sheets and towels the next day, the following day, they "fixed" the bed, but didn't bother to clean. Hairs and desk on the bed. Fortunately it was mine. The bins were again not emptied. Yes, unfortunately I was there for a week. Had a 4 days conference and relied on ******* 8star rating. The management needs to get their act together. They have some good workers but inconsistent in and poor service speaks to poor quality management, i.e management systems.

I like everything thing about the altamont court property..Very quiet and relaxing and most of all very clean..

Very convenient location-front desk staff was very courteous. Room 302 - However the room was unsecure, the safety latch was removed; telephone not working, cracked ceiling moulding and cracked floor tiles. A king size bed with 2 small pillows. Request gut additional pillows indicated non available as the hotel was completely full. Breakfast was okay - Jamaican meals were very exotic; mostly beef organs. There were limited flexibility in the local menu.

Check in was fast and easy. Room was in good order and breakfast was good. The AC didnt really blow cold, but was ok for an overnight trip.
