Sinclairs Yangang

The stay was great, its situated at a sicluded area but the views and ambience is really soothing. The food is also very good. Suggestion - book your cab on priority as cabs are not readily available. However the hotel provides the cab service for nearby sightseeing on prior information.

Yangang is a quaint town in the Namchi district of South Sikkim. It is host to age old traditions and the new site for Sikkim University. Surrounded by the Maenam hills and a majestic view of the Teesta and cascading waterfalls, it will also be home to the Bhalleydunga Ropeway system soon. The natural beauty is ethereal, the flora and fauna absolutely captivating, this hidden gem is one to be explored at ease. Sinclairs Yangang is possibly the only known brand franchise operating here. Close to the Yangang market, it is an uphill drive from the main road on a diversion easily missed. The property, while not being spread over acres like their other franchises, is cosy and warm. The larger, better rooms are at the back, facing tin roofs while the rooms with better view (mountain facing) are smaller and less lavish. Only 3 rooms have balconies – one on each floor, facing the front porch and the mountains. These provide an exquisite view of the distant waterfalls, the diverging Teesta and the misty Maenam hiils. With the place not known to many, the footfall is quite low; hence the food options too are pretty limited. The chef does his best to cook as per your choice, but is restricted by availability of required infrastructure and raw materials. Pork and mutton are not available in the hotel. Breakfast is pretty repetitive with bread, eggs, puri/parantha, packaged juice and diced bananas. Lunch and dinner can be ordered on a -la-carte provided the chef has the required materials at his disposal. A good cook, he does his level best to ensure the food is to your liking. House keeping staff need a complete retraining on basic hospitality – they refuse to smile, do a shoddy business of cleaning and do not replenish toiletries/tea etc. unless asked for multiple times. They take forever to respond as well. Room service too is quite slow, with very less staff. The manager is new and is not yet abreast of tourist spots around, so best to check on google or ask the locals. Taxi stand is in the market, which is quite close to the hotel – so recommend you book your travel from one of them instead of the hotel who would charge you more unnecessarily. Overall a great experience if you like being far from the madding crowd. Lazily read on the balcony, cherish your glass of poison after sundown, enjoy the food and go for the occasional sight seeing around. The roads are good, weather splendid and journey absolutely charming.

I had the best stay at Sinclairs. The manager was so polite, as was the staff. We went during the rainy season, and due to the incessant rain, the road was blocked, but the manager and staff helped to clear the path. I couldn’t believe they did that! It was one of the most memorable trips. The room was awesome, neat, and clean.

The location is fantastic. I was on the topmost floor (3rd floor) and the room was facing a valley and i could see Teesta river flowing. The rooms was spacious. However the food quality needs a lot of improvement. Buffet breakfast menu was limited. The paranthas were too oily. For other meals, we ordered a paneer dish in which paneer was like a piece of rubber. Overall, food was a complete disappointment. The pillows provided were overstuffed. I had to use a towel instead of a pillow. This place has frequent power cuts so power supply is with generator. whenever the switchover happens, the power does not get restored automatically. One has to remove the room keycard, wait for 10-15 second and again insert the keycard to restore supply in the room. I told this to the manager and he acknowledged that this was an old problem but did not do anything for the 5 days when I stayed there.

Surrounded by a kind of tranquility ideal for those who do not like noise. Helped us forget the world we went from and left a desire to revisit. The jungle and the mountains around it engulfed us. We connected to nature’s amazing whisper. Can still hear evening time jungle’s melody varieties of insects make. As darkness descends, everything turns to total silence. It helped us to do more chanting.

Best stay in Sikkim. Every employee including the manager, Mr. Chakraborty, is extremely helpful. Everything from rooms to food was excellent. They manage to run a star property in an offbeat location providing homely food and prompt service.

Stayed in Sinclairs Yangyang for a family trip. The hotel is in an offbeat location, yet with all modern facilities. Great support from staff members was the main catalyst for an awesome stay. Finely decorated rooms, tranquil ambiance, serene view of the mountain ranges from room balcony, everything was just perfect for us. If you want to visit Ravangla, then this is the best option to stay. Looking forward to come back again.

Driving after an unforgettable journey all the way from Lachung, I stayed at Hotel Sinclairs Yangang on my way to Ravangla. Nestled in a peaceful location, the hotel truly lives up to the brand's reputation, even in remote. The serene and clean environment, ***** with spotless pillows and bedsheets, made my stay very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally courteous, and Mr. Arnab greeted us with a warm welcome and a nice cup of hot tea. His fostering a culture of hospitality and compassion was felt in the interactions with the in-house staffs.
