Inn of the Turquoise Bear

The Inn of the Turquoise Bear is what draws us back to Santa Fe year after year. For us there is no other place to stay. The breakfasts are world class cuisine made with such love and creativity. Sitting around the big table with all the other guests getting to know such interesting people is such a unique experience. Spending time in the evening with Dan and other guests over amazing conversations over a glass of wine is an exquisite part of the stay. The rooms are fantastic and filled with such history. Dan knows the area and can direct you to the best restaurants, hikes and places to see in Santa Fe. Absolutely 5 star.

Just returned from a fabulous stay at the Inn of the Turquoise Bear. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. Innkeeper Caitlin was exceptional, very personable and accommodating. We stayed in the Shaman room which was spacious, well appointed and enjoyable with an in-room wood-burning fireplace. The area had received several inches of snow the day before our arrival, and this added a unique sense of beauty to the entire property. All of the pathways and common areas were well- maintained to ensure easy movement. Our bed was spacious and very comfortable with luxurious sheets. We did not rent a car and found the property nicely situated within walking distance to Canyon Road and the downtown area at the Plaza. We did Uber a couple of the evenings due to the extremely chilly weather, but was very economical due to the close proximity to restaurants and shops. Breakfast served daily in the beautiful gathering place was always a joy. There was a great variety with yogurt, fresh fruit, hot coffee and an array of juices. Then delicious choices of Huevos Rancheros, blue corn pancakes & pumpkin ginger waffles. Yum! We look forward to returning to Santa Fe in the warmer months, and will definitely look forward to returning to the Turquoise Bear. Thank you for your amazing hospitality!

Lovely and romantic bed and breakfast. The grounds are beautiful with many little “hidden” places to enjoy the sunshine or starry nights. The breakfasts were delicious. Coffee, tea, water and snacks were always available. A wine hour in the evening. All of the staff members were so friendly and accommodating. We celebrated our anniversary and it was truly memorable!

Inn of the Turquoise Bear, housed in a historically significant building, is possibly the nicest place we've ever stayed. Dan, the innkeeper, is welcoming and super helpful, as is his entire staff. The included breakfasts are terrific, and include alternatives based on dietary needs/preferences. The gardens are magnificent, and include lots of places to sit and relax. Can't recommend the Turquoise Bear highly enough.

We loved our 3-day stay at the "Bear". We were in town to visit friends but also hoping for a quiet and comfortable retreat to just "hang out" between visiting and sightseeing. We were not disappointed. The weather was chilly and damp during much of our stay, so we did not get to enjoy the grounds and the inviting nooks and crannies as much as we would have liked. But between our very comfortable and cozy room and the lounge in reception we felt right at home. Owner Dan and his team were most welcoming, and responsive throughout. The breakfasts were individually and lovingly prepared - a delicious start to the day. And we really enjoyed the daily Sunset Cocktails hosted by the Innkeeper; a wonderful way to get to know our fellow travelers. This is an exceptional inn and we hope very much to return. Highly recommend.

Hospitality top notch. Breakfast is gourmet. Every time they had a chance to go above & beyond they did. Before our drive home Caitlin made us a goodie bag that was so yummy we didn’t have to stop for lunch. Inn is within walking distance of all things downtown.

We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay at the Inn during our first visit to Santa Fe. We had a fantastic time! The grounds were serene and comforting. Our room (O. Henry) was very comfortable yet full of character and charm. But above all, our best experience was sharing breakfast at the communal table in the inn's dinning room and connecting (deeply, although for a brief moment) with our fellow travels. All of that made possible by our fantastic inn keeper Alex! We look forward to visiting again.

The history of the Inn and those who visited the property long before it was an Inn was humbling. Back to reading my high school English books. There was a real positive vibe at the Inn from all who are there now. Breakfast and afternoon wine were are plus. Hope to be able to visit again.

What a charming, comfortable place! The inn is unique in its history and layout, and the decor is perfect for the Santa Fe setting. We enjoyed interacting with the staff and with our fellow guests during breakfast and the evening wine hour. Homemade baked goods and snacks, tea, coffee, and cocoa are always available in the common room. The location is great, walking distance to the town center, and a short drive to the hiking trailheads. We will definitely recommend the Inn of the Turquoise Bear to everyone!
