What a gem! Surprising gardens on a seafront where we are amazed by all the surroundings! The staff is out of this world friendly and helpfull! From the owner with the unmistakable friendliness, to the Director Diogo Jardim always available for whatever you need, the FOM reception (Sandra) always with a genuine smile , Francisco and his team in the restaurant, Chef Albino who prepared our Vegan meals, everyone, without exception, made our stay a dream! We highly recommend Albatroz Beach & Yacht Club for an unforgettable retreat! Thank you everyone and we definitely Will be back! Armando and Liliana

I never write reviews but I'm making an exception for the Albatroz. We have just returned from this wonderful hotel, by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in and we've stayed in many in Europe, the US and Canada. The staff were all amazing, so courteous and friendly but I must single out one staff member for special praise. Claudia, the restaurant manager, was fantastic. She happily created cocktails from my husband's own weird recipe, the Madeira Banana Sunrise I think we named it!! She made our stay at the Albatroz a truly delightful experience. If we come back to Madeira, we will definitely be staying at the Albatroz. Only downside, it's spoilt us for all other hotels in the future.

A quiet, friendly place with a wonderful seawater pool, an excellent restaurant, friendly staff and large, sunny rooms - you can also just spend a few days in the hotel to relax and not even have the feeling of being in a hotel - but in a spacious villa - perfect place to relax....

We stayed at the Albatroz for 4 nights, we booked a junior suite with sea view room and stayed half board. The rooms are very spacious, the beds are comfortable and the sea view from the upper level is beautiful. The hotel is very close to the airport and you can get a free transfer provided by the hotel which takes about 5-10 minutes. This hotel is quiet and relaxing, the food is very good and all the staff are professional, helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is a buffet with everything you could want including eggs or pancakes cooked to order. The selection of food for dinner was very good, selection of seafood, different meats and pasta. I’d like to have seen more sauces to accompany the meals but it was all very, very good. The hotel is a little bit isolated, the nearest town Santa Cruz is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute cab ride. We unfortunately didn’t get to visit this town as the day we were planning to go there a storm came in and we were stuck in the hotel all day. We used Bolt to get around which is like Uber, very easy to use and much cheaper than the taxis. To get to Funchal is about a 20 minute ride and cost around 15 euros one way or you can get a bus from the airport which is around 6 euros. If you’re new to Bolt when you sign up to the app you get discount on your first 5 trips.

This property is absolutely remarkable– from the architectural design to the fresh Atlantic breeze! Staff members are very attentive and friendly. This hotel also features a wonderful dining facility and spa. And no need to worry about missing your flight, as the Albatroz is located only a few minutes of the airport.

If the perfect hotel exists, this is it! From the moment that you walk into the hotel there is nothing that is too much trouble for the wonderful staff. The rooms are spacious, all with wonderful sea views and you can fall asleep listening to the sounds of the waves. The vegetarian menu in the restaurant is the best that we have come across on Madeira. The Albatroz leaves Reids Palace and Cliff Bay in its shadow. It is by far the best hotel on the island, and we would now not consider staying anywhere other than the Albatroz on Madeira. Our only problem is leaving when it is time to go home, we never want to go!

Our First visit in this Hotel, and for sure not our last! Why? The hotel's kind helpful staff and breathtaking location and unique ocean swimming pool are responsible for all of this! Such a wonderful view that you can admire from the Hotel to the Atlantic Ocean! Excellent food and perfect serving no matter you having your meal outside like a terace looking across the sea to the Desertas Islands. Dont be afraid cause the Hotel is locating so close to the Airport. No any disturbing noise comeing to the Hotel area! Even in November a treat swimming in the amazing sea pools and Atlantic ocean, cause water temperature is quite warm to enjoy. All around the Hotel is very clean and so amazingly gardened! They offer free Airport transfer which is very cool and confortable! If you visit Madeira dont miss their Hotel and there magnificiant Ocean Pool

Thank you to all at ABYC for looking after us so well when we stayed twice for a total 11 nights on our trip to Madeira this month. Manager Diogo should be justly very proud of his venue and staff. Please accept our thanks and to name but a few please extend our warmest thanks and best wishes to Catarina Olena and Sandra on reception. To all in the Restaurant and Kitchens and the housekeeping staff. No stone was left unturned to look after our every need. Our second visit here, and hopefully not our last. Such a wonderful place. Friendly helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food and the bonus of breakfast sat outside looking across the sea to the Desertas Islands. Really not a problem to be so close to the airport , interesting watching the few planes coming in. Even in November a treat swimming in the amazing sea pools.
