Meininger Hotel Salzburg City Center

Essentially, this is a youth hostel with private rooms also available. The conveniences are basic, up to 2* standard. No slippers provided, no kettle, no tea set in the room. The public is mostly student groups thus rather noisy (but fun) atmosphere. The view from the rooms facing street is breathtaking, so you have the choice of either enjoy mountain view but suffer from traffic noise or enjoy quiet environment with the view on a supermarket wall :-)

This is a budget hotel, you can’t expect many services provides to you. During the Easter holiday, the hotel receives many student tour from all around the world. I would say it is between hotel and youth hostel. However, the helpful staff gave us an excellent experience for all of us. We used the washing machine to wash our clothes. However, there was a problem of it so that after finishing the washing machine, our clothes were totally damp wet and a lot of water inside the washing machine. We spent over three hours to dry our clothes overnight, but the clothes were still extremely wet. The helpful staff (the black gentleman who was wearing glasses) offered us to rewash all the clothes and dry it in their laundry room. When I did the check out, he asked me again did the clothes alright. We can feel his caring and many thanks for his professional help. Otherwise, I can’t imagine how can we carry on our travel journey with the damp clothes.

Had a very nice stay in early march. I made a mistake and accidentally booked my dorm for two people instead of one. The front desk staff was great with helping me out. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to cancel the extra reservation on their end since it was already confirmed but they gave me all the tools so I could remedy my faux pas. The room was spacious and the mattress was super comfy! The shower had excellent water pressure, which you don’t always get in a hostel. My only critique is that I wish the laundry room and kitchen were separate and that the guest kitchen was bigger. It’s only big enough for one person to cook, two if you have no sense of personal space. Other than that everything was great, if you’re more of a party hostel girlie this is not the place but for an introvert who enjoys the quiet this is perfect.

Is very ok hotel and I enjoyed my stay great thanks to morning receptionist who is super kind and helpful I am really happy to stay here and everything waw in order speaks really good english rooms were nice and big everything made my stay super enjoyable

Rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were also very helpful and nice !! The hotel is well connected with the city Center - the tram is just outside the hotel and there are supermarkets near the hotel - which is great because you can buy everyrhing you need it you forget some things (which was the case). I really enjoyed it and totally recommend it.

We had stayed at another Meininger Hotel on our travels and were quite happy. Unfortunately not so with this one in Salzburg. Whilst the hostel is in a good location and the staff were friendly, it was quite filthy and unclean in many areas. Our room had hair all through the shower, as though it had not been cleaned. The shared kitchen was on another level of dirty! The night we arrived and wanted to cook, the bins in the kitchen were so full they had over flowed o nto the floor. There was rubbish everywhere. The fridge was dirty and had mould,and whilst I realise it's not staffs responsibility to do the dishes, people had left the whole bench full of dirty dishes with food left in them. So dirty, we couldn't cook in there and went out for dinner. Very disappointing.

Nice and Cousy and cleaned room (we get a 4 bed room), helpful and nice people at the reception. We had a very pleased stay in Meininger Hotel. It's well connected with the City Center and there are supermarket near the hotel.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The cleanliness is impressive, and the staff are professional and helpful. The facilities are also top-notch. Overall, a satisfying experience. The breakfast also delicious. They also have lockers!!!!!

5/5 amazing place to stay. Close to city centre, quiet and very clean rooms! Highly recommend anyone going to Salzburg or going to visit Hallstatt We checked in and were pleasantly greeted by the friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and had all the amnesties you need such as hairdryer, tissues, towels and blankets.
