The Novotel Salvador Hangar Aeroporto best features are its location near the airport, newer facilities than most properties in Salvador, and it operates under the ACCOR hotel brand. Despite these advantages, I must report a unacceptable experience during my stay December 28th to 31st 2022 followed by deplorable managerial customer service in response to verified and documented service failures. I have reported these issues to my travel agency, my corporate travel unit, and my personal travel networks. As I discovered this property using Trip Advisor, I have decided to report this matter for the benefit of my fellow readers. I do not recommend this property for business travelers nor cultural tourism travelers (especially not those seeking afro-Brazilian tourism or those welcoming to the African diaspora). I share some reasons herein: • Unreliable Service: During my stay I experienced one major internet outage over six business hours, as well as minor room outages (less than 30 minutes) on each day of my stay. This hotel was advertised as catering to business travelers, but the hotel provided no updates when internet would be restored despite repeated requests. I did not receive any support to manage the disruption to my teleworking, and personnel were unable/unwilling to facilitate solutions (At one point, I was recommended to use the free internet of one of the shopping malls. Imagine carrying expensive computer equipment to what my taxi driver warned was a “high crime” area). Sadly, the ability of the reception staff to identify solutions was more unreliable than the internet service. • Poor Room Quality: This hotel advertises rooms of high standards of quality, and I am sure many receive good rooms. However, I received a room that was both substandard quality (bathroom sidings and interior furniture water damaged, door malfunction, refrigerator malfunction) and pollutted by the buildings HVAC exhaust being poorly designed, allowing exhaust to flow against rooms on the lower floor (high noise pollution noticeable when sleeping). I believe most guests do not have this experience, as the issue likely affects few rooms on the lower floors. However, when choosing this property, one must ask the question, how does the receptionist decide who receives these rooms which experience high dust inflow and high noise pollution (I have videos and photos available upon request). Why are some customers placed in quality rooms, and others assigned to substandard rooms (noting the hotel has standard room types based on bed requirements)? Why did this hotel property assume that one of their few afro-descendent customers would accept the worst room in the property? • Deplorable Managerial Level Customer Service: Upon checkout, a customer service representative noted my dissatisfaction with my hotel experience, and asked if I would be willing to receive inquires from hotel management the next business day. The rooms are asking for urgent renovation. Don’t expect kindness from staff, specially at night: asking for a taxi the attendant gave me a number and told me to call myself, he couldn’t help. The room is old, a filthy odor emerges in the bathroom after flushing or showering. A complete nightmare.

Rooms are very big, nice and clean Great hospitality and service Breakfast was nice and a lot of options to have Coffee machine and facilities to have a nice sit and relax time with friends and family Hope I’ll come back again soon

ดิฉันได้เป็นเจ้าภาพในโรงแรมเล็กๆ แห่งนี้ มาหลายครั้งแล้ว คิดว่าเป็น 3 ดาวก็ระดับดี ห้องพักวิวทะเลบางห้องมีระเบียง อร่อยมาก ต้องขอบคุณวิว ห้องน้ํากว้างขวาง สิ่งที่ดีที่สุดคืออาหารเช้าและชายามบ่าย พักอาหารในตอนบ่าย พร้อมตัวเลือกหวานและเค็ม ทําเลที่ตั้งเป็นหนึ่งในสถานที่ที่ดีที่สุดของ Salvador ย่านหน้าทะเล แต่ด้านหลังเต็มไปด้วยร้านอาหาร บาร์ พิพิธภัณฑ์ พระราชวังโบราณ และสิ่งต่างๆ มากมายให้ชม ภายในไม่กี่นาทีโดยรถประจําทางหรือแท็กซี่ คุณสามารถไปถึงชายหาดที่ทําฟลาเมงโก ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในเมืองที่ดีที่สุด

For the price paid, the value is exceptional. The location is safe, 5 metres from the beach (about as close as a hotel can get) and a few minutes walk from supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities. The breakfast as is always the case with Rede Andrade hotels is varied and sizable. This hotel branch is much nicer than two others I stayed at in Salvador with a comfortable lobby area and outside seating courtyard. Though my room was misrepresented as ”an apartment” when it is a normal room, I was fine with it given the low price paid. I had a sea view and the room contained the necessary features, i.e. fridge, TV, hot shower, ac, and towels/soaps. The WiFi was terrible though with no signal at all in the room. Aside from the latter, everything was great as were the staff. Would recommend 100%

Arrived very tired, staff helpful and very well trained....nothing is too much trouble, rooms excellent with housemaids cleaning and replacing everything when necessary. Only grumble from me is that Braskfast would be better if there were trays available...

Check-in process smooth. The room was small and nothing exceptional. We had lunch at the hotel. The food was ok, however it is not possible to put lunch and or breakfast on the room. We had to pay straight away to the waiter. At mornings, before breakfast, the hotel wasn't very organised. We had to queue and wait for whoever didn't have it included and so on. The quality wasn't good. Unfortunately I would not recommend it.

Fantastic stay! The hotel is beautiful. It is right on the top of the hill of Rio Vermelho and it offers a free service from the hotel to the main street and the other way around. When we arrived we found very nice receptionists. We were initially given an accessible room, we requested to change it as we were there to celebrate our honeymoon. One evening the hotel staff treated us with strawberries, chocolate and 2 brigadeiros ＜3 The room was very nice and clean, with all the comforts. The breakfast, unfortunately, wasn't very good. The quality was poor. The positive thing is that we could order omelettes and tapiocas cooked at the moment. All the staff very nice and friendly. Definitely recommended! :)
