Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort Hotel

Great hotel, great facilities! The beach and view are beautiful!

Very good resort completely family focused and relaxing for parents. Third trip and would go back again. Some small issues but mostly resolved easily

Our group consisted of children aged 2-8 and adults up to 70 years old and we all loved it! Everything about this resort is carefully tailored to make life easy for parents. Best of all, even though we were there at half term and it was at full capacity, it didn't feel busy because they don't overfill it to keep it feeling premium. We didn't have an issue getting a sunbed round any pool at any time. The beach is gorgeous and always felt nearly empty. All staff we came across were as helpful as could be and Martinhal clearly recruit carefully. There are 5 gorgeous pools and 3 toddler pools. The pool at Club 98 has an inflatable slide and the indoor pool has a plastic toddler slide. We stayed for 7 nights, ate out for 4 of those and self catered for 3 nights. The resort shop has a good selection of things but we did a run to the supermarche in sagres for a larger shop. The shop was quite expensive, but so was the super market. We tried all 3 restaurants and the Ice Cream shop and all were great. Os Gambozinos in the village square has a lovely outdoor play area with trampolines, 2 inflatable bouncy castles and various equipment in it that you can see from the restaurant. At 5.30 each evening there is always some form of kids actvity held there eg. meet and greet. We also saw a great magic show in M Bar next to the restaurant at 7pm one evening. As Dunas down by the beach has lovely views, a sand play area with trampolines and play equipment and a zip wire just outside. O Terraco has the most spectacular views and a lovely indoor play zone with drawing, a play kitchen, duplo, stamps etc and the lady who was entertaining the kids while we were there was great- Tata I think her name was. All restaurants brought the kids food out quickly so no whinging children. The menus were pretty varied. They were quite expensive but that was expected. Our luxury villa (77) was amazing. Huge in fact and had everything we needed. The conceirge had provided (at request before we arrived) toddler toilet seats and steps, a travel cot with bedding, a baby monitor, a highchair, bed guards/sides so it was all really simple. As other reviews mention it is windy but not all the time. We had 2 days that were pretty windy but the rest of the time it was a breeze. The weather was 20 degrees but it definitely felt hotter than that and absolutely perfect for enjoying all the outdoor facilities without getting sweaty and sunburnt. I don't think I saw a mosquito at all. We hired bikes, did a couple of the kids academies, padel tennis, hired kayaks, did a dolphin tour and spent the rest of our time enjoying the beach and pools. It was a thoroughly enjoyable week, I'd highly recommend and go back.

A fabulous hotel and we couldn't have had a better time as a family. From the friendly staff, to the delicious food and the facilities and location it was a holiday we'll remember from beginning to end. If you're looking for a family holiday then we couldn't recommend it more.

This is to recommend Olga at the Finisterre Spa. Best masseur I have had in all the years I’ve been having massages. The spa itself is light, airy and has a good range of treatments. It uses natural products and has spacious treatment rooms. A very pleasant experience.

Martinhal Sagres is pure paradise! Beautiful scenary and views. It’s the best family friendly resort we have ever stayed in. They cater so well for young children. There are 4 different pools so we loved trying out different ones on different days. Our children had an absolute ball! The playgrounds are Fantastic too. There is so much variety. The kids loved them. They were busy all the time. The restaurants are great too and the best part is the playgrounds located in the front or the play area and child minding service provided within the restaurants!! It means as adults you get to enjoy your meals in peace I would highly recommend this resort. It is expensive, but worth it. Pure luxury!!

Really enjoyed the time at Martinhal. Lots of activities for the kids, fantastic location with great sea views. Clean beach.
