"This Hotel made us feel at home during a difficult period, as we were visiting a family member in the local hospital after a bad accident. The Achat Suhl Team treated us with kindness, professionalism and empathy, and made a difficult stay that much easier. Also very nice and clean rooms - the policy of cleaning only on request is sensible and works well imo. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Rooms can be a bit warm (we stayed in August-September), but that's the only small issue I could think of."

"The reception and the entire staff were extremely friendly and remarkably dedicated. This leads to the positive aspects. The hotel has unfortunately retained its 70s charm. The rooms are not only in dire need of renovation, but they also leave a lot of room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. The carpet is clearly stained with dirt from the past few years, the curtains are beyond grey, and cobwebs float out when you open them. This doesn't help me recommend the hotel. The absolute highlight is the underground car park, which neither deserves its name nor is worth the price; here, too, the history is crumbling from the walls. It's all a real shame."

"A lovely hotel. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and professional. I don't speak any German (typical British person!) but most of the staff spoke some English. I had an excellent sleep on a very comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was excellent, but they do not have English menus, so Google translate came in very handy! Large, safe car park at the back of the hotel. Ignore the old reviews, this place is wunderbar!"

"We were at the beginning of December for 2 nights at City Hotel in Suhl. We very well enjoyed the room (183) was large enough, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant on the 16th floor are particularly praised. The Christmas market, small but fine, also. The weapons museum and the vehicle museum are also worth a visit, not to forget the animal park."
