Pleasantly surprised with the place as it was very clean and staff are accommodating.
Negative : only valet parking and have to pay $36

First off, parking is a joke. There is no self parking and valet closes at 6:00 pm. However, I was advised their lot is full by 5:00 pm. I had to drive to a parking structure that reeked of **** and leave the car there overnight for a total of $23.50. Secondly, the hotel is a tower with an open middle. There was a big party going on until 11:00 pm with a huge base just thumping. I’d be okay with that but I had kids who needed to sleep. The room itself was well-appointed and comfortable, but the rug in the bedroom was filthy. So many stains that I doubt it’s ever been cleaned. The room also had a weird and unpleasant smell. The shower tile grout was dirty and there was rust around the drain. We did have a great view of the river and bridge. The location is also very close to the Zoo, Old Town and Cal Expo as well as the Capital.
The best part of our visit was the breakfast and amazing staff. The staff working in the restaurant area were very friendly and kind. They (staff) get 10/10 stars.

Location is fantastic right next to the waterfront and old sacramento. Accessible shopping and restaurants and history all on foot. I chose for location.
The overall level of service and general motivation of the staff is low. We arrived a little early for checkin and the desk man told me to come back in 30 mins. Little did I realize it was shift change and he checked out so to speak. I was told they would text me when room was ready. I waited until 4:30 and nothing. I finally left and came back and they handed me keys like it was nothing. I asked the valet for the keys to my car that was right in front of me and he said wait and ran away. There were long womens hair on the couch that were easy to see as soon as we checked in. There was zero shampoo in the shower. The luggage trolley had a broken wheel and was very hard to manage. The food was low quality and you could clearly taste it. I could hear the staff at breakfast discussing how boring their jobs were.
A lot of this is in the eye of the beholder and up to your personal standards. Some people might think this is all acceptable and be glad for the breakfast. I would have rather paid more and received more.
But - the location was fantastic if you want access to old sac and waterfront downtown. There really isnt a way to beat it.
