I had booked this hotel for a treat for the wife. We were driving from Nice. However due to a rental car issue we could not make it on the day. We called ******* mid afternoon to ask if it could be cancelled and refunded. Very helpful they agreed to talk to the hotel. Hotel said they needed managers approval. So 24 hours later the manager declined and charged us full amount despite our car issues and appeal. Running a luxury hotel is just as much about customer care and friendly service as the facilites. We have been to many great places where managers and customers services have been very friendly and corteous. With this hotel and manager we are very very disapointed. Manager may well refer to booking policy but that’s beyond the point. With a single refusal to refund he has tainted an otherwise well reviewed hotel
