This was our first self catering holiday after a number of years all inclusive. The accommodation is clean and sufficient. The shower temperature and pressure was fantastic at all times of the day. We had a spacious terrace with sunloungers, tables and chairs. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Jose in the pool snack bar works really hard, food was always cooked fresh to order, but arrived quickly and one lady lifeguard took pride in her job and was so vigilant when kids were in the pool, she mopped the floor throughout the day and my 14 Yr old daughter commented that they were the cleanest poolside toilets she'd ever seen. Pools were relatively quiet and no issues with not getting a lounger. All in all a really enjoyable holiday and we hope to return.

So nearly a 5* review. Just returned from this beautiful hotel after a 10 day stay and a brilliant holiday. Peurto del Carmen is lovley. Something for everyone. The Positives. The pool, hotel, chill out balcony, views are just amazing. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast area and food cannot be faulted. The breakfast/bar staff are amazing too. Had a couple of lunches here as too from the snack menu and responsibly priced. 4 euro a pint of beer 2 euro for a coffee. Sun beds were easy to obtain. I think they have put more in since other reviewers had complained about lack of them. The negatives, and this should not put you off coming but it is why i cannot give it a 5* review. On arrival you are told that if you want to use the safe its now 4 euro a day this has increased from 3 euro a day. So that would have been 40 euro then for us. If if you want WiFi in your room its 2 euro a day. So before they give you a room key they wanted 60 euro off me. Not a chance. This should be provided for free in a 4* Hotel. Luckily i had read previous reviews so bought a lock for my case and topped up my data before i came. Also if you have a late return flight they will find you room to have a shower but again only if you pay 30 euro until 3pm or 40 euro after this. Come on !! Surely you can find a room that people can spend 20 mins in to have a quick shower and a change of clothes before a long journey home. Other Hotels provide time slots for this. We ended up getting changed in the lobby toilets which to be fair were big enough for it not to be a problem. Overall the positives by far outweighed the nagatives, and i would deffinatley stay here again.

Lovely hotel, great location for access to sandy beach, local bars restaurants and buses. The hotel was always clean throughout, staff were very helpful and mostly friendly. There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool area, and quite a lot of shady areas if you needed them. The bedroom was good size, with a recently renovated bathroom with walk in shower. There is a kettle/cups provided however you have to buy your own coffee/tea supplies as nothing is provided! The outer fridge door opened backwards against the inner door and was quite awkward and a tight squeeze by the bottom of the bed, but nothing that caused any real bother. The buffet restaurant was always well equipped although the evening meals felt a bit repetitive after a couple of days, however there was plenty of choice at both breakfast and evening meals. Be careful going in after 8pm though as often dishes weren't replenished and were often unavailable..at one point a member of staff was cleaning down the hot grill at 8.30pm whilst guests were waiting for hot food., despite the restaurant being open until 9pm. My only real issue relates to drinks in the restaurant. The hotel caters for B & B, Half-board and All-inclusive guests; we were HB and therefore had to pay for all our drinks in both the bar and restaurant, (other than breakfast where everything was included - hot drinks, juice, squash, milk etc) We were happy doing this, either paying at the time of purchase or signing to our room to be paid upon our departure. We generally had a bottle of wine with our evening meal, which we signed to our room. (the choice of wines and price were quite reasonable) On our 2nd evening in the restaurant my partner collected a caraf of still water from the counter that we had seen other guests having. We were immediately approached by a member of staff who told us quite abruptly that we weren't allowed the water as it was for All-inclusive guests only. I pointed out that is was tap water only but he just kept saying ”you are not allowed, All-inclusive guests only”. He then produced a menu and indicated to us the bottle water that we had to order, which we duly did, but felt quite embarrassed as other guests were staring and he made us feel we had tried to do something wrong! I should add that staff at the pool bar were more than happy to provide tap water free of charge throughout the day to all guests, irrelevant of what Board basis they were on, even filling customers personal drinks bottles for them. On one other evening in the restaurant I asked for a glass of Sangria, which was served from a pump along with beer. I was again told that I wasn't allowed as it was for All-Inc guests only- I said that I wanted to pay/sign for the Sangria, but was told that I could only buy it at the bar and was not allowed it in the restaurant! On the whole none of these issues would prevent me from returning to La Geria, however guests shouldn't be made to feel like 2nd class citizens just because t

Travelled with Jet2 and stayed with my wife and son over October half term. Disappointed with the room. First of all it was a twin room and not a double. The Jet2 website implied it was a one bedroom apartment with a double and a single bed. My son slept on a pull out bed on the living room floor. Second then the room was really dated and in serious need of modernising. It was clean, but we didn’t want to spend any time in it as it wasn’t comfortable or inviting. The bathroom ceiling was stained with damp and would smell pretty awful after the 3 of us had showered. The shower incidentally was an ancient shower head over the bath, with a shower curtain that was in no way in keeping with the rest of the bathroom decor. Electric sockets were limited and the bedside light did not work throughout our stay. The door to the room opened onto a balcony shared with the next room. Not ideal when the neighbours liked to smoke. The complex itself is a horseshoe of rooms looking onto 2 swimming pools, separated in the middle by the pool bar and reception. The swimming pools are well kept, clean and not too busy, with comfortable sun beds and a good number of parasols. The vast majority of the staff are really warm and friendly. They all work hard, and it is a small operation. The place feels safe and quiet. The food in the pool bar is cooked right behind the bar itself, so be prepared for strong smells of whatever any guest has ordered. We tried the food on one occasion and it wasn’t great. There is a Spar very close by, a 2-3 minute walk. It’s well stocked with anything you might need. The main resort ***** then is a 5-10 minute walk away. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from as you walk along the seafront. You can carry on walking 30-40 minutes into the old town and the harbour to find some less touristy parts, but otherwise the resort is geared for tourist food and drink. There are a couple of good beaches to visit. All in all this accommodation is probably a 2 star, but with the decent pool area, quiet location and yet convenience to the main ***** I’ve given it a 3 rating here.

It was our second time of coming to this hotel we did the same last year at the end of June beginning of July, we tend to do all inclusive, 2 night breaks. Every time we have stayed here we can't wait to come back. All the hotel team are great always happy and pleased to see you, the room is always what we have chosen and even near the pool, it is never noisy. In fact we enjoyed it so much in the Summer we have booked to come back for a birthday weekend in December for my Husbands birthday. With regards to location, again we can't fault it. Short transfer from the airport, shop just outside complex, great local bar if you want to do something different. All in all I would recommend this hotel every time. Can't wait to be there again.
