Average hotel that's seen better days...rooms are small...and not noise-proof...WiFi patchy. Lots of mozzies. Needs an overhaul and freshening

This is in a great location near the centre of town, on the water and the staff are very friendly, but ... the venue is run down and in need of maintenance. The pool is mouldy around the edges, the decking is lifting in many places, lower mattress is mouldy and torn, timber venetians replaced with painted glass so not blockout, plumbing fittings don't fit, outdoor bar roof covered in a tarp, ceiling panels missing in dining area.

Moorings staff were excellent! We stayed at moorings for 10 days , 5 of those days were due to air Vanuatu cancelling 5 flights. The staff ensured we had a room after each cancelled flights and helped us with finding information that air Vanuatu would not supply us. The staff was wonderful and ensured we were informed and had rooms and meal vouchers. For us for all cancellations although they were not informed by air Vanuatu , we can’t thank them enough for looking after us. Monique and Hana were wonderful in ensuring we were looked after in what would have been more stressful without there continued help. Cannot recommend this place more. Thank you Moorings!

I liked this place. Great location only ten minute walk into town, and beautiful views. We were upgraded to the harbourside rooms, but actually would have preferred the poolside as the afternoon sun is too hot at the harbourside rooms. The rooms are basic but clean. The air con worked well. The pool is nice and the bar restaurant area is very pleasant with options to be on the sand. The restaurant was okay but not great. The included breakfast was basic. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall the price was okay in comparison to other options and if I returned to Port Vila, I would stay here again.

I did not stay as my flight was cancelled at the last minute. I have requested a refund, given the circumstances, but neither the property or Wotif are responding.

Had an excellent stay here, each room I had - either as a solo traveller or shared with other people on my tour - was clean, spacious and very comfortable. A couple of rooms are in need of some minor maintenance - a broken switch or tv - but nothing that caused major inconvenience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the view is spectacular. I'd definitely recommend!

We stayed here for a week and this is nothing like the pics. We thought we would be staying on the ground floor as per the pic next to the pool, however we were on the 2nd floor. All the rooms are so small you can not swing a cat in them and the ensuite can only fit one person in at a time. Very small. Extremely noisy hotel. Dripping taps, slamming doors due to no softening placed on the swing of door hinge to make it close slower. Uncomfortable beds. No pool table as website stated. Water activities we had to pay for. However, this is more of a motel, not a hotel. Very old and run down. Breakfast is very ordinary and not worth eating at the Moorings. We went out for breakfast. We went to the Warick Resort whilst here and found that this is the resort type of accommodation we were looking for. It didn't cost anymore either to stay in a 5 star hotel with a full hot buffet breakfast and freshly cooked pancakes, omelet, bacon included in price. Don't worry about being close to the airport /town as being a reason to book here. It is only 150vatu from the Warick to the Airport or into town by 'B' bus. All water activities are free as well there. After seeing both and staying at both, I would never go back to the Moorings even if it was only $50 a night Australian money. So not worth it. Feel very ripped off indeed.

The Moorings looks good in the photos but is in serious need of major maintenance. Our first night after a long day of travelling was in probably their worst room in the 3 block. No view, no internet and the toilet broke down and constantly flushed. After requesting a change the next room was better. in the 1 block with a view. But like the rest of the place it was run down. Needed painting and things like broken tiles and pieces of deck missing. Dinner was average at best and expensive, the ****** was cheaper and better. I have travelled to many countries and some very remote places but the breakfast here would rate as one of the worst. The was an option to pay for an omelet for around $20 AUD. I refuse to pay that for an omelet. The french bakery down the road has a nice quiche for around $10 AUD. I am sure the management of this place know of all the faults yet they choose not to fix them. Customers should know up front that the pictures do not truely reflect the state of this property. On the positive side, the staff are great and friendly, nice views and only 10 minutes walk to the centre.

Great central location, lovely welcoming and helpful staff, clean and well maintained, excellent value for money. Kids loved the pool. Reasonably priced good food. Would definitely recommend staying here.
