On arrival there was a car club gathering for lunch and we were told there was a photo shoot and we could park in carpark and walk to reception rather than parking at entrance to reception.
Not what would be expected of a 5 star property
Staff at reception were friendly when advised of our complaint
Room was small and no where to hang clothes
No blinds just plantation shutters (look nice) try to sleep in but can’t because of so much light coming in
Charged our credit card prior to check out rather than taking from booking site - luckily we checked
Will be staying at Kirkton Park next time

Such a peaceful beautiful property, the pool is lovely and there are kangaroos hopping around. We had a fantastic stay. The staff were all very attentive, however, the one thing I will say is that we visited some wineries and were told that we should have gotten a card from Spicers to show to receive complimentary tastings, but we never received one. I guess they forgot, that would have been nice. Definitely would stay here again.

Not so happy on this place as its not worth the money you pay and the “Title” and advertisement was extremely nice but the place need some renovations. The stuff is not that approachable, the bathroom sliding door is broken, the bed is not comfy and made my husband back in pain and the worse thing about it they set the sprinkle water to water the grass at 3am that wake us up as in front of our room and we didn’t go back to sleep. The buffet is very ordinary and so basic. My expectations was high as the ads and the price I paid I even choose deluxe room but its just a standard quality.
Not coming back in this place again. Sorry

Spicer’s guesthouse was lovely, with modern and comfortable rooms and the grounds were very pretty, with manicured gardens and wild kangaroos watching from a distance. The staff were friendly but maybe not always as attentive as they could have been.
Given the guesthouse is the premium hotel of the Hunter Valley and was quite expensive I’m just uncertain as to what exactly we paid for. I think if you’re going to have a premium price you should be able to justify it in some way by distinguishing yourself from the competition but it was unclear to me if Spicer’s really achieved this. It was a nice hotel without being amazing or anything.

This is a wonderful place to stay for a few days- relaxing, nice food, with glorious views. If they did any renovations in the future, a gym would be great….

Excellent design of the buildings, with only one slight reservation- the size of the bathroom. Meals were first rate and the pool was delightful on a very hot day

Always feels like coming home at Spicers Guesthouse. Warm ambience, friendly welcoming staff great food, comfortable rooms. A great mini holiday in the Hunter Valley.
