Hotel de l'Universite

We really enjoyed our 2-nights at Hotel de l'Université. The reception staff were always warmly welcoming and helpful. The room was quiet and surprisingly roomy for the center of Paris, and so convenient to the D'Orsay. The bed was comfortable. We never tried the breakfast, because so many boulangeries were nearby. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel De L'Université, the hotel is in a fantastic location: easily walkable to the Louvre (just across the river), and the nearby 6th arrondissement/district also has many great restaurants and the Jardin du Luxembourg. If you want to go further (or just don't feel like walking), there are plenty of bus and metro lines a short walk away from the hotel. Despite all of this, the neighborhood around the hotel isn't too busy or loud at night. The hotel staff were also very helpful and friendly. A great place to stay if you are planning to visit lots of destinations in central Paris!

We have had many visits to Paris and have stayed in many hotels there. This hotel was up there with the best and it is highly likely that we will stay again if we are lucky enough to have another Paris trip. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the river and very close to the Musee D’Orsay as well as having plenty of restaurants and cafes close by. We found the metro was about a five- or six-minute walk away and the RER was about 8 minutes away at the Musee d’Orsay stop. There was a supermarket close by and also a branch of Nicolas for bottles of wine within only a minute or so walk. We booked a Junior Suite with a terrace, and the room was much larger than we expected. The bedroom area was large with a big comfortable bed. There was a smaller living area with a sofa, but we simply used this to store our suitcases which kept them well out of the way. The main room had lots of cupboard space with both hanging rods and shelves, a large desk with a Nespresso coffee machine and two comfy chairs with a small table. The bathroom was modern and clean with a separate toilet, which we really like. The terrace was lovely, overlooking the roof tops, but best of all was the view of the top of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. We were travelling with another couple, our brother and sister-in-law. Unfortunately the Junior Suites were all sold out but they had a deluxe double room, which while not quite as large, was still a very good room indeed and they were happy. Downstairs was a lounge area which is where breakfast was served each morning. Breakfast was the usual continental, but eggs, sausages and bacon were also available. In the evening the area became a bar serving some nice cocktails The service was faultless, in fact everything about our stay was faultless. I highly recommend a stay at Hotel de L’Universite if visiting Paris.

A lovely friendly hotel in a brilliant location. Large room for Paris and immaculately clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.

A lovely hotel in a quiet area near Boulevard Saint-Germain. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and fresh. While the croissants and warm milk were wonderful for breakfast, overall, you may want to step outside and perhaps explore a local boulangerie (eg, Gosselin is just a 10-min walk away). I highly recommend the Hotel de l'Universitè and hope to be back again soon!

This hotel and its staff are still as wonderful as ever. My first choice when staying in Paris! The location is convenient, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere welcoming. Thanks so all for another wonderful stay!

Second time sleeping at Hotel de l'Universite. I will be back! This time my room was quite tiny but big enough for one person. The hotel is clean, well located and super quiet. The staff is amazing. This place offers all the ingredients to have a great time in Paris.

nice, large room, clean, nice and spacious bathroom; unfortunately, the window pointed to the noisy road; we didn't like that we couldn't get into the room when we arrived but were told that cleaning is still under way

This hotel is in a great location: it's a safe, pleasant, quiet part of St. Germain that is about a five-minute walk from the busy, bustling part of St. Germain AND the Louvre AND the Musee D'Orsay AND (of course) the Seine. Our room faced an inner courtyard, so was remarkably quiet. I'm guessing that's not the case for the rooms that face front, so you might want to request a courtyard view. The room itself was typical of the hotels we stayed in: small, but more than adequate for our needs. The food was very meh; after a lovely spread at a similarly priced hotel in Bayeux we were disappointed -- but it was adequate.
