Grand Hotel Smeraldo Beach

Amazing hotel, perfect food, staff with perfect services and beautiful hotels beaches. Amazing architecture around, night life is very pleasant and silent, PHI beach nearby. Porto Cervo (cca 6km) is most beautiful port i ever see! Thx for all, very, VERY nice stay!!!

The location is great if you are looking to be by the beach, but if you are happy to be disrespected on your account and spoken to cynically and in derogatory ways, then by all means do book. The staff were rude at lunch bar when asked to repeat what was the menu of the day. Similarly for dinner when we were looking to take a seat by the window , we were told you have to book in advance, when we were not informed at reception checking in. The staff were not friendly at all, some we saw during dinner mocking elderly german couples who did not hear well and were imitating them.They would not know what decent customer service and manners is if it hit them in their face. Appaling behaviours. The room smelled of cigarettes, the air conditioning ventilator was giving foul smells. Throughout the night we could hear all the snoring from other rooms through the airvents. The breakfast layout was more like a 2 star hotel service with box juice, defrosted products, and some expired yoghurts. If you are vegetarian, you will be eating fruits and 2 days old croissants everyday. Their way of providing a 4 star service is shocking, with staff ignorant, lack of manners, rolling their eyes when interacting with guests and dont care about being accomodating with guests etc. And it all makes sense when you try to discuss the issues with the hotel manager Sara Sanna, who couldnt be more hostile, appaling, disrespectful and rude, letting me know I cant tell the difference between a bar and a restaurant. Yep, thats the customer service and value for my money I was being given. One word, shocking. Save your coins and go anywhere but here folks. The management clearly does not care enough to replace these awfull staff and manager, it seems like a tradition of old age Italy.

Me and my sister stayed at this wonderful hotel in September for four nights. The hotel is not a typical 'premier inn' which is what we really liked about the individuality of it. We were on a bed and breakfast basis but did try the four course dinner on one of our days. We were not disappointed and had the best ever lasagna as one of the courses! The reception staff are very helpful and found the beach bar attendants friendly too. There is a piano playing in the evenings which would not suit any younger guests as it seems its more for the older generation. Getting down to the beach area of the hotel would definitely not suit anyone with any walking/mobility issues. The area around the hotel also is quite hilly.

From the moment we arrived it’s was blissful, relaxing and 100% fantastic, staff were very welcoming, friendly and the place was spotless. Couldn’t have wish for a better holiday. A wonderful, restful holiday in a lovely location. Excellent hotel in its own beautiful little bay. As well as our balcony, the terrace and main pool with great views, there were many secluded lounging areas to enjoy around the small pools dotted around the landscaped grounds. We particularly loved swimming in the sandy bay amongst the saddled sea bream, and enjoying lunch at the friendly beach bar.

Lovely hotel, wonderful location, very beautiful. Staff were so helpful and the surroundings and furnishings really tasteful. The only disappointment was that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.

We looked long and hard when considering Sardinia and so glad we chose this hotel as its fantastic. The staff are super friendly & efficient. We had a sea view room which for me was worth the extra money. The rooms were lovely, most comfortable beds and a small walk in wardrobe. The housekeeping was very good, and everywhere was spotless. We took the half board option as saw it was A La carte and were not disappointed as the food as it was tasty & varied. There is a beach bar and a terrace bar which has a piano player at night, but no other entertainment which is about normal for Italy. Also there's a TV room which showed premiership & other football games. There's a private beach with beach chairs not loungers and about 5 pools with plenty of sunbeds scattered around in various areas. But shame the early morning towel brigade start putting their towels out before 7am. The hotel is built on a hill so lots of steps, and if you want to venture out there is a hill just outside the hotel. There's a supermarket about 15 mins away and the bus stop about 10 mins. Also 10 mins away there's local beach with lovely restaurants, bars and ice cream parlour. On this beach you can embark on the boat trips which you can book at the hotel or near the beach. Sad that we are home after 2 weeks as Sardinia was beautiful but expensive. But f you want to treat yourself to a special holiday go to this hotel. We would definitely go back.

Based on the reviews I saw on Trip Advisor I had high hopes for our stay in the Grand Hotel Smeraldo Beach. Staying in this hotel you feel very isolated as a ten minute taxi to the next town costs €35 one way. The taxi from the airport to the hotel costs €110, I have no doubt you could find somewhere just as nice if not nicer closer to the airport. If you are under the age of 30, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. There is little to no atmosphere in the hotel. Lunch options are very limited, only pasta and salads. Breakfast is average for a four star hotel, the bacon is very greasy, nothing is cooked to order. There is a selection of restaurants five minutes walking distance from the hotel. These restaurants serve the same type of food, and I was surprised at how touristy these restaurants were. Very average food overall. The major positive is the stunning private beach, this was lovely. Overall this hotel is suitable for those who wish to stay put in the one place for the duration of their stay, definitely not suited for couples in their mid 20’s as you would find yourself quite bored. We also had a strange check out experience, the receptionist didn’t ask how our stay went, and when we were leaving, failed to say goodbye.

Very well managed and presented in a delightful and quiet setting five minutes walk from the busy beach promenade of Bahia Sardinia. A proper full service hotel with properly trained staff taking a pride in their efforts.
