Lovely service. Someone always at reception to answer any questions one might have. We were too tired to get the morning breakfast but if it is not included in your stay you can purchase it for 12.50 each.

The hotel is located just outside the town. Friendly check-in staff made the process easy. The decor in the rooms allocated was worn and only local TV channels are available. Heating is with electric panels which are hard to control. Some towels are worn and the beds are not firm. Noise from room to room is high as is noise from the adjacent road. The staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet is reasonable. Ask for a room overlooking the parking at the front of the hotel entrance.

I went here for food with my wife recently and although most of the staff were fine... there was one girl, Danielle, was her name I believe who's behavior was beyond petulant. When serving us food she slammed down knives and forks on the table and was so rude in how she spoke to us when serving. No general manners. As if this wasn't bad enough, (this next bit will make you laugh) she was sending inappropriate voice messages regarding her boyfriend from Dundalk who my couple and 2 other customers around us did not need to hear whilst working?! We got a full rundown of her love life! We had actually laughed together as she was so unaware with how loud she was being. I thought it was one big joke! We all have bad days but this girl was being beyond unprofessional. Food and drink was flawless and manager on site at the time was extremely helpful and lovely but overall this hotel was let down by the acts of one girl. Andy

It was great to revisit my favourite hotel in Athlone. Everyone in this family - run hotel is so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The room and bathroom were spotless. In fact the whole hotel could not be faulted for cleanliness and hygiene.

We stayed at the Shamrock Lodge for 3 nights. The room was spacious, and clean,overlooking the car park. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good choice for breakfast. We also had a few evening meals here and they were of a high standard and delicious. We highly recommend the Shamrock Lodge and would stay here again if visiting the area.

Dear management team and staff My daughter had her communion on the 11th of may in the Lovely lodge. The food was delicious and staff were extremely friendly and pleasant they are an incredible team. My wife and I were taking our 6th trip to Ireland, and celebrating our 30th anniversary. This hotel is very much a non-chain, local, Irish hotel. If you’re up for that, it’s 5 stars to us! We stayed two nights as we were starting our trip to get acclimated to the time change and see a town (Athlone) that’s off the tourist path. We really enjoyed our time in the town and at the hotel! Great breakfast, got upgraded to the Prince Grace Suite. :) And we were close to a couple distilleries. Also, Athlone has some great shops and restaurants we enjoyed.

From the moment we arrived at the Shamrock Lodge, we knew we were in for a special day. The wedding was orchestrated brilliantly by Raj, whose attention to detail and dedication to creating a memorable experience was evident throughout the event. A special shoutout goes to Kayla, who served our table with such care and attention. Her professionalism added a personal touch that made our experience even more enjoyable. The food was great, but the desserts deserve a special mention. The venue itself is stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for a beautiful celebration. The wonderful team at the Shamrock Lodge ensured that every aspect of the wedding ran smoothly, making it a seamless and stress-free experience for all the guests.
