The photos for this hotel look really beautiful- but the reality is something different. Some great interior design, but poor management, poor hygiene and overall poor organisation. Have just returned from weekend break- and am so glad to be home! First room assigned at check in was woeful- dated, tired, dirty. Nothing like online photos. Marched down to reception to complain and was reassigned a refurbished room, but had to change rooms Fri and Sat night. Whilst refurbished rooms are much nicer, they still feel dirty and uncared for. First thing we were greeted with on entry was broken pucture with cracked glass, followed by chipped paint, skirting board, stained carpet and bed linen. Booked spa break for Sat afternoon. Checked in for 2pm treatment to use facilities to be told not only did they not have a booking for us, but also all the other spa facilities were out of action until next weekend! No one saw fit to tell us this at time of booking! Luckily someone else had cancelled and we managed to have our planned massage but, after massage we just had to sit in bedroom as there were no other facilities to relax in. Complained to manager at checkout and spa charges were removed. During 2 days there, I made 3 trips to reception to complain- and each time there were other guests similarly complaining about rooms and cleanliness. All in all, this hotel has a nice setting and superficially pretty decor in parts, as well as good food- but it is really let down by poor care and management.
