Chelsea Inn

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever visited.

The check in system is horrible. Hotel feels very unsafe and if you are claustrophobic it’s not for you. It literally feels like a small box. Also they are not very convenient and not very accommodating for a hotel facility. They just want your money that’s all. Definitely won’t recommend anyone coming from near nor far to go here. Reserve on your own risk as you may loose all your money.

During CHECKIN the room access code did not work when I got to my room, but when I texted for help, I got a new code very quickly. Great service. The WIFI was so bad I had to use my hotspot to work in the room and could not do any video calls like I had planned. I did text the team about it but it took a few hours and several tries of restarting the wifi for it to finally be strong enough for me to use. It would be good to highlight that there is NO ELEVATOR. The stairs are very narrow and difficult to navigate with luggage. I don't think I would have chosen this hotel if I knew about the elevator situation. It is mentioned in the accessibility of the listing though; I learned that I need to check that in the future. Great HOT SHOWER.

I thought staying here was going to be“roughing it”, with no elevator or front of house staff. Instead it was just like having a little apar**ent in Chelsea! I loved the location even though there were some noisy party nights, outside. The room was quaint with nice decor, high windows and a good bathroom. The temperature was good and there were even snacks at the front desk.

Budget friendly, no frills, friendly staff, tidy room, convenient to everything, property as described

I stayed here for 4 nights. The location is pretty good. So co venient to get to not only Manhattan, also Brooklyn and Queens. There is a subway station in walking distance. However, noise from the old pipe was terrible. If you don't turn on the heater in advance, it makes loud noise during all night. Even though it was noisy, the room I stayed was so clean that I was satisfied with this hotel. Considering the price of New York, it might be a good option for those who don't have enough money.

The surprise holding fee the shared bathroom was he televisions are outdated and no signal rooms are very tiny and there was 5 stories of stairs to climb not for me or my friends and family

Felt comfortable and relaxed for my two week stay. Easy going place in a convenient location. Basic but clean and comfortable. Be ready to take some stairs and do your own clean up. A coin laundry mat just around the block and basic groceries and shopping a few blocks. Affordable is why I chose it. I’d come again!
