Generally speaking it is a good hotel; I had a spacious room with a good bathroom, very clean. Good breakfast with an ample choice of food, fruit, cakes; I would only complain about the lack of fresh milk, and coffee is really lousy. Fruit juices could be of a better quality. Personnel vary from courteous to quite indifferent. One negative thing: the lobby bar is permanently closed, and the restaurant bar is open from 5 pm to 11 pm. Once I asked for a bottle of water after 11 pm and I was answered it was impossible to get one (NB there is no minibar in the rooms). The restaurant is open for breakfast and in the evening it becomes a taqueria, which makes good tacos and is quite cheap, so it is a good option if you go for a quick simple dinner.
It's my 2nd visit to Merida and to Hyatt. What I love is the hospitality of the people from the front desk, bellmen, housekeeping and food and beverage workers. The rooms are spacious and plenty of room to put your things. It's very clean as well. The breakfast/brunch buffet is amazing, I wish I had enough stomach to eat everything. The bakery has a vareity of pastries absolutely delicious along with good coffee. They have a small clean gym which we took advantage of, but can get full fast early morning. It's walking distance to many good places to shop and eat. Uber is cheap if you want to explore further.
Very nice newer hotel. Very large clean rooms, very modern. 110v outlets with USB. Somewhat walking distance to places, but taxis are cheap. Great breakfast and very very friendly staff. A/C works great in the room. Very nice breakfast/dining area with a bar. Top 10 gyms I’ve seen in my travels. Five treadmills with TVs (none of the TVs worked however), two ellipticals, free weights, multi use machines, leg curl, back. Very large gym - 24/7. Negatives - little to no hot water after about 4pm for some reason, so plan on taking a cold shower if needed. Elevator door readers for room access don’t work well.
Nice hotel with friendly service. I've stayed in Fiesta Americana hotels a lot and know generally what to expect. This one lives up to the high Americana standards. It is in a good location, near good restaurants, but not in the central area of town. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are nice. The bar had live music on Friday night and the band was great. Across the street is an outdoor restaurant that also had live music at night. The first floor of the Fiesta Americana hotel is all shops, so the actual hotel lobby is on the next floor. At the top of the escalator, in the lobby, there will be one or two people who will approach you and offer to help you with anything. They are very nice, but their goal is to sell you something like a timeshare. We refused to talk to them about that, so we never got the full explanation. We also got a phone call in our room, from the same people, telling us they had a free gift for us. We did ask these people for recommendations of local activities and they were very nice and helpful. Included was a light breakfast and snacks/drinks on the fifth floor. This was very convenient and the food was simple, but good. The only real surprise we had was at check out. We found that there is a charge for the self serve coffee in the room. I never use anything from the mini-bar or anything in the room that has an extra cost. I do not remember seeing anything about the coffee costing something. So many other places it is free/included. The hotel did reduce our charge for the coffee, but be aware that there is a charge.
Due to a 6am departure we chose the Hacienda Inn hotel because of the close proximity to the airport. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly girl at the counter who was full of smiles. Upon entering the room we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room which had a coffee maker and two double beds. The restaurant on the property next to the pool had a variety of meals to choose from and cold cervesa as well. We asked the desk girl to arrange a taxi at 3am and it arrived at 3am sharp. The cost of the room was $35.00 and it was a bargain to say the least. I enjoyed the stay albeit it was only one night but I would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend it to my friends as well.
Just spent 2 nights here but found the hotel to be well connected with free parking, shopping and restaurants; what else do you need? It is actually connected to a shopping center that has a Walmart. We ate at two of the three restaurants located in the mall and found others that we tried as well. Nice décor and good size comfortable rooms. Hope to return one day.

JJustStephAs before, highly recommended a real gem for this price.
We extended our stay because we liked it here so much, it’s perfect to relax.
And we going to miss the huge comfortable bed.
This hotel has water issues like everyone is talking about. They have to tank the water in and they constantly run out. It ran out on a Sunday so they could not get more water. They blamed the restaurant that rents out of their building for leaving a tap on that didn’t help fight that we couldn’t shower for a day. Then the days we could shower the water was always cold. I overheard them giving gas that were definitely from Mexico Free breakfast for the inconvenience but for the Canadian American guest they offered nothing. I called them out on it and said this was unfair. The front desk was completely rude said it wasn’t their problem and that their manager wasn’t in on Sunday to take care of this, and that was from a previous day, I spoke to those guest and they said that’s not true and that they got it because of the cold water and lack of water issues. The location is good. The hotel is clean, but it is falling apart. Nothing works and the toilet can’t flush paper which meant you had to put dirty paper towels in the garbage next to the toilet. They also try to charge you for everything like if you lose a room key which cost them pennies they want to charge you a fee for issuing a new one and you don’t even get a second one so you constantly have to be with your people they also threaten to charge us for taking the towels to the beach, and then upon arrival, they said that my kids because they were over 12 had to pay I said you had to buy another room. I would stick to the chain hotels from the US as they would never treat their customers like this customer service in Mexico is really sad. the only highlight was the cleaning staff. The hotel is extremely clean and they are very attentive.
This is a 3 star review based on averaging 1 star concerns and 5 star aspects. 1-star concerns relate to safety. Two things that were concerning: (1) my father slipped and fell in the bathroom at 4AM and lost consciousness. When I yelled loudly for help in the courtyard (including ”hospital!!” because we thought he maybe had a heart attack or was otherwise dying), NO ONE RESPONDED. The hotel is an open air building all facing an inner courtyard so someone should have heard my loud yelling, especially when pitch quiet at 4AM. Thankfully, my father was OK later that night and next day. (2) When I told this story to the front desk the next day, the woman was not at all concerned that a guest could have died at their property. I asked to confirm that someone works the night shift, so I am not sure why no one responded that night. She asked if we called the front desk that night, which I did not because my father was possibly dying so no, I did not have time to figure out what the front desk number was at 4AM. Also no one responded to me YELLING for help, so I doubt someone would pick up the phone. She said she would tell the night shift, but there was otherwise no follow up. I also provided this story on a guest comment card when we left - also no follow up. 5-star - hotel is in a great location in the center of town near the main plaza, and it is a charming building with a lovely courtyard and rooftop pool. As other reviews mention, the rooms are rustic/simple/basic but they are perfectly serviceable, especially given the price and location. If not for the safety concerns, I would stay again.
