The hotel is very comfortable, modern, chic and clean The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check in a bit earlier as our room was ready and we had an early arrival to Merida in the Maya train from Cancún (highly recommended experience too!). We were welcomed with a glass of ice-cool water which was perfect as the weather was much hotter than anticipated in Merida. The pool was super refreshing, the toiletries and bedlinen beautiful and the whole place is an oasis in the middle of a very central street, close to everything yet quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend!

Perfect stay for a family of four. They provided a crib and baby bath. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable. The staff was super friendly, especially the bellboy Luis. He helped me load all the kids in the car, it made it a breeze since I was going in and out.

This places is lovely. Understand, though, that some of the super old furniture is worn. I was there for a month and switched back and forth between two rooms. The first room was a standard double. (The room pics I provide are all of this room). It was a lovely room. The bathroom didn’t make sense though. It was the tiniest bathroom I’ve ever been in. The pic shows the sink and the toilet. Across from that, there’s a shower. the room above this one has the same configuration as the one shown, but the sink is outside of the bathroom, which makes the entry/sitting area of the room more pleasant. I chose not Ask to move upstairs because it’s also hotter upstairs than downstairs… and the bathroom configuration wasn’t that big a deal to me. The first room was overlooking Calle 60. It was a bit noisy on some nights. I actually preferred my smaller room to the bigger suite. Something about it just felt nicer. It needed more comfy dining chairs for the little tea table though. The second room I stayed in was a suite with two double beds. (I am not posting pics of that one because there are too many personal items in the pics I have of that room). It was the corner suite facing both Calle 60 and overlooking the park in front of the hotel. IT WAS NOISY. The second room had more light, More room, and a much better bathroom configuration (toilet and shower inside, sink outside the bathroom). It also had a couch and lounging Chair as well as much better (and much older) furniture. By “better” I mean beautifully worked, with more storage space/specialized storage. However, the floor in the second room (the suite) was really badly damaged over by the bathroom. So from the door the room looks pretty much perfect. Over by the bathroom it looks run down. And that’s just how this place is. That’s why I say it’s like staying in someone’s grandma’s house. Beautiful, comfy, clean, but it’s clearly been used. There are rooms that have newer furniture, but understand that this is an old hotel. ITS GORGEOUS but if you expect everything to be new looking, then don’t stay here. I think they are renovating, but I’m not sure. I hope that they keep the furniture and just have if restored as best as possible. They should also restore the broken tiles. IMO restoration of the tiles and professionally filling nicks in wood would do wonders for these rooms. If I were to give this place a review just based on the look of it I would give it a 4. 3 for the condition and 5 for the beauty and ambience. I am giving it a 5 for three reasons: 1. It’s just gorgeous, 2. It felt like was staying in someone’s home… very peaceful… inviting… comfortable and 3. The staff. Come to think about it, they probably are the reason the place felt so comfortable. They seemed efficient and were pleasant, helpful people. Just spent 2 nights here but found the hotel to be well connected with free parking, shopping and restaurants; what else do you need? It is actually connected to a shopping center that has a Walmart. We ate at two of the three restaurants located in the mall and found others that we tried as well. Nice décor and good size comfortable rooms. Hope to return one day.

This great old hotel is in a 1902 building directly across from one of the central churches and plazas. As such the rooms on the outside are noisy; mine was, from bars and church bells. It also served as an incredible perch to watch the city life from. However, when I stay again (which I would) I will request a courtyard-facing room which will be much quieter. Service is very good, amenities OK, room clean. Multiple parking places nearby but be careful if you have an early flight and ask when they open in the morning. Walking distance to everything. Lots and lots of people trying to sell men's shirts, I didn't know that was a thing, but now I do. Many restaurants etc. nearby.

Charming hotel in a great location in Barrio Santiago. Wonderful and helpful staff. They had no issues storing my insulin and retrieving as needed. I would much prefer the room (Jr Ste with plunge pool) had it's own mini-fridge. Keeping drinks cold is essential in the hot weather, and for those with meds to be stored, it would be awesome to have the option to have in-room. Staff was helpful at all times, very sweet and friendly! Even helping me book a MUCH needed massage on my last day there, with sore muscles and swelling from heat. Best massage in years! Breakfast was continental, but great fresh fruit, juice, coffee, toast, yoghurt. The place is affordable, clean, great service and charming decor all around. Small and boutique style, just my preference. A little bit of noise with barking dogs (but not severe), and the bathroom shower comes out with a LOT of pressure, and faucets were 'reversed' - you can adjust water amount but it still spills over into the bathroom, so the shower rug/towel would get soaked and then some. Maybe a little ledge would help prevent it. The bathroom door is best kept closed, as it has a window (screened) opened for ventilation, but you would lose all your AC in room. No big deal though. Couldn't figure out the safe. A little small, but enough storage room with desk, dresser, etc. Would definitely return! Highly recommended. It made my stay very special, gracias Art 57!!
