Abbey Bed and Breakfast

Excellent stay. Seamus, his wife Helen and Ella were so welcoming. Not far from bars, restaurants etc. Room very clean and beds really comfy. Breakfast really tasty. Thanks everyone loved it. Colette and Martin from Belfast. Highly recommend

Abbey Bed and Breakfast is a cool place to stay if you ever visit the lovely city of Derry. Everyone, from the host, the staff, to other guests, is super nice and easy to have a chat with. I booked a twin room for two, but our room can easily fit three people. The host walked us through the space while informing us that our room didn't have a TV, and the shower door was a bit jammed. It was nice to know but neither bothered us too much. We could hear other guests enter/exit their rooms at night and in the morning, but the beds were comfortable enough that we had a good rest. The breakfast is cooked to order, with a choice between Traditional Irish breakfast or egg & toast; plus, freshly brewed coffee - a warm way to start a chilly day in Derry. I was kind of reluctant to bring my mum to stay in a B&B initially, but she highly praised her experience at Abbey, and that says something.

If you are looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful a warm welcome great breakfast cosy bed a home away from home then this is your place. The location is perfect so close to everything. I am just sorry I didn’t know about this place before will definitely be back. Thanks Seamus and the ladies at breakfast for a very enjoyable stay.

Great breakfast each morning to start our day of meandering through beautiful and friendly Derry; the history is fascinating and the architecture makes the cozy feel cozy.

Very basic room. Bathrooms could use a good clean. Street very busy during the day/afternoon but fine overnight.

Seamus and Helen are great people and extremely nice and hospitable owners. Ellie is wonderful as well. We enjoyed our stay here and felt like family. Their location is very much in the center of Derry.

The Abbey is well located, Shamus is very friendly,and helpful. The staff are A1,they make you feel very welcome,and always hood for the great Irish banter. The room was extremely warm and comfortable,and the whole house was spotless. Very good value for money,will definitely be going back again,intact we've already booked to go back in August.

For the past 22 years I have been staying at the Abbey Bed and Breakfast, so yes I am a bit biased. Seamus and Helen Kennedy are the warmest hosts you will ever meet. The Abbey is full of historic, sports, and music memorabilia. The rooms are good sized and always clean. The breakfasts are delicious. The location of the Abbey is great for walking to Free Derry Corner, Walls of Derry, restaurants, pubs and all there is to do in Derry.

Nice place to stay. We truly enjoyed the breakfast and the access to “the kettle” all day long. Seamus, Ellie and Helen were excellent hosts.
