"Staff very friendly and welcoming. Hotel room was alright considering we stayed for couple nights only. Me and my daughter came back to hotel late in the evening. It is only 10 minutes walk from the railway station but we took a taxi as one area near hotel didn't feel completely safe as there is a spot where some homeless people spend their time. I wouldn't expect anything extra from budget hotel."
"The hotel is perfect for tourists who want to transfer from Birmingham to another city. All equipment is perfect and advanced and the cost is reasonable. HOWEVER, the female receptionist is very rude and irritable, when I checked in with her, there’s the same name as me booked this hotel and I just double checked the days and whether I booked the breakfast or not she showed her impatience and rudeness."
"The room is neat, spacious and facilities are good but I feel they could have put water or jug in the room for the guest but overall, I'm satisfied with their service. Hope to visit again soon."
"The hotel looks a little tired and in need of bringing up-to-date. Access is via an alleyway that isn’t the best smelling!
Service at check-in was disappointingly slow with one receptionist not being aware of 4 people in the queue.
The hotel lifts - there were 2, although 1 broke down soon after check-in - cover 9 floors and are exceedingly slow. I actually found it quicker to walk up and down the stairs to my room on the 3rd floor.
The room itself was spacious, with hanging space, an ironing board, kettle, comfortable bed and a decent bathroom and good shower.
The big letdown was the antiquated single glazed window that allowed road noise to permeate through - road sweepers and bin men."
HH S TThis hotel building had marked its golden jubilee. Well maintain and upgraded. Spacious room. Excellent breakfast with variety. Walkable to symphony hall, ICC, Mailbox. Chargable carpark by 3rd party via staircase underneath. Highly recommend.
ผผู้เข้าพักI recently stayed at your hotel and unfortunately left feeling quite disappointed with several aspects of my stay.
Upon arrival, I noticed what appeared to be blood stains on the curtains, hair left on the towel/flannel in the bathroom, and marks on the table surfaces. I have attached photographs for reference, as I feel these are basic housekeeping standards that should have been checked prior to a guest arriving.
I also experienced multiple issues with food and service during my stay. I ordered a charcuterie board, however the Parma ham and other cured meats appeared dried out, discoloured and no longer fresh. Unfortunately, after eating it, I also felt unwell afterwards, which was particularly concerning.
Later, when ordering dinner, I asked for a croque monsieur but the staff member repeatedly did not understand the order, despite me explaining it was a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. I was eventually advised to order a panini instead.
Additionally, I ordered truffle fries but was informed they were unavailable. I agreed to normal fries, however what arrived were heavily seasoned thick-cut chips which were completely different from what I expected and unfortunately not enjoyable.
Another issue was the iron provided in the room, which had black residue/staining on it and ended up marking my top, which was very frustrating.
As I had booked the stay primarily to relax and enjoy a quiet evening in the room with room service, it was disappointing that the overall experience did not feel comfortable or enjoyable.
What disappointed me further was that upon check-out, nobody asked how my stay was or whether everything had been satisfactory, despite the multiple issues experienced throughout my visit.
I wanted to bring this to your attention as I do not usually complain, however I felt the overall standard of cleanliness, food quality and service fell below expectations.
Kind regards,
Karolina
SSfrixelReally unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the room, there was a huge amount of dust anywhere that I was sneezing continuously.
Also, the most disgusting thing were the bedsheets, stained with yellow spots! I asked for a new set of bedsheets and the reception gave them to me and I had to put them on, because there was no one of the cleaning team to do it.
Very very very unsatisfied.
ผผู้เข้าพักI stay here once a year as it is not far from the NEC in Birmingham. The location of the hotel is perfect as so close to the motorway but feels like you are in countryside as so quiet and relaxing. It could probably do with a little TLC as the some of the furniture in my room was looking a little tired but still very clean. The staff are lovely and helpful with good service. I have been to this hotel many times over the years and only used the swimming pool once which is the only downside to this place. I would not use again as not the relaxing hotel experience I anticipated as was very busy. Priority appears to be given to the paying public over hotel residents and the changing room was disgusting with used towels piled high on the floor. Staff were stood around having a laugh with their mates and had to interrupt to ask where to get towels then had to ask another member of the public how to open the lockers. I would continue to use this hotel but wouldn’t risk the swimming pool again.
