ผผู้เข้าพักเราจองห้องเตียงคิงไซส์วิวเมือง บอกตามตรง พื้นที่แคบไปหน่อยสำหรับผู้ใหญ่ 2 คนและเด็ก 1 คน แต่โดยรวมแล้วห้องพักค่อนข้างน่าพอใจ ทำเลดีมาก ใกล้ชายทะเล ชีวิตดีมาก สะดวกและเป็นโรงแรมที่ค่อนข้างใหม่ สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกก็ฉลาดกว่า และสุขอนามัยค่อนข้างดี ข้อเสียอย่างเดียวคือโทรไปที่แผนกต้อนรับยาก ไม่มีใครรับสายบ่อย เมื่อมาถึงโรงแรมครั้งแรก ไม่มีพนักงานยกกระเป๋ามาช่วยยกกระเป๋า จากจุดนี้ อุตสาหกรรมบริการในประเทศดีขึ้น ดีขึ้น

ผผู้เข้าพักThe location is ideal. Near to everything you need to visit in Cairns, Great Barrier Reef wharf, water park, restaurants, museums. When you have to get up early to meet your tour schedule, location is the key. Very friendly staff. Room is clean with amazing water view. Breakfast buffet offers a wide range of choices. Although in view of the age of the hotel, it has little tears and wears, 4 stars service and comforts are something we are looking for, instead of some fancy golden decoration in the hallway. We definitely will come back when we visit Carins.

HHarryShopperFirst time staying at a Shangri La. It wasn't terrible. But it wasn't good. Or at least not as good as I expected.
Starting with the positives. The location of the hotel is superb in Cairns. Great. Now the negatives.
The finishings in the room were not up to the five star standard I'd expect in terms of just general quality. The cupboard door was also broken and hanging off the hinges. The TV was attached to a wall so that you cannot watch it from the bed or the built in seating/sofa. So if you want to watch you have to stand in the middle of the room. Badly designed and a poor experience. Luckily I was only staying a few nights.
There was a fire alarm one of the days. Fine. But the housekeeping came at the exact same time as the fire alarm announcement. Wasn't sure if it was the door or the alarm. And resulted in the housekeeper walking in when I had no clothes on!
For the money. It's not worth it. You can get better stays on Cairns. I stayed in a cheaper 4 star place which was much nicer and cheaper. Wouldn't stay again. Questioning on staying in the chain elsewhere.

ผผู้เข้าพักThe room was clean and with a well equipped kitchen, the large king size bed was comfy. It was a bit noisy at night being at the front by the main road. The reception staff weren't the friendlies but they did their bit. The maintenance guy was very helpful when we needed assistance with the laundry operations.
Not bad accommodation for the affordable charge.

DDollmeisterOkay here’s my review. The Espy has so much going for it in terms of being central to the entertainment precinct of Cairns Esplanade.
Check in was easy and friendly and the two bunk dorm had its own dedicated ensuite bathroom which was very clean and quite large.
The bedroom was clean and the bunks were enclosed wood and steel construction with zero squeaking. Clean towel and linen provided.
So that’s all the very good stuff.
The not as good things I observed were:
- the lounge/common areas were dimly lit, very tired (bordering on festy) furniture and not somewhere I’d socialise due to limited seating, very few power/USB outlets or clean comfortable seating.
- The pool…. Or should I call it the tropical punch bowl of various biological matter and other detritus… if you’re keen of growing something fungal on your body, go in…. I decided not to.
-Kitchen and meal prep area all seemed clean and safe to get your mung bean and tofu ready for consumption.
- The personal under bunk locker was missing its latch and with two roommates I had to say a little prayer that my gear would be safe inside my enclosed bunk.
Overall this was my maiden voyage as a backpacker and at 57 years of age, I’ve stayed in a lot of Hotels and Motels costing far more for way less cleanliness. I rate this place highly for all the good reasons above.
The not so good stuff is easily fixed by management but for $65 per night in peak season, I don’t think you can get any better value in Central Cairns right near the action. Pubs, cafes, night market and the City Lagoon.
Thanks Espy crew, you made this old dog’s stay a pleasant one and will be back if and when the opportunity presents itself.

But pain point is really clear, the WIFI is not working in my room (bad signal), I can only sit in lounge/bar area at the ground floor to get WiFi.

ผผู้ใช้ไม่ระบุชื่อOverall we had a good stay here but found the housekeeping policy very strange. There is no housekeeping unless you pay for it (or stay for 8 days). We could change our towels personally at the front desk but were requested to take out our own trash and had no way of vacuuming after a long stay. However, the room was adequate and we very much enjoyed the location, which couldn’t have been better.
