The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens

My Husband and I got married at the Dunloe Hotel October 2023 and we were blown away with how helpful the staff were throughout all the planning process and even on the day. All the guests can't stop talking about how amazing the food, the hospitality and the grounds were. We got some lovely photos at the hotel. The rooms were quiet and spacious and had a lot of room to get ready the morning of the weeding. We held our ceremony in the Beaufort Suite in the Events centre, held the drinks reception in the Upper longue and the reception in the Park suite. We would like to give a special shout out to Rachael, Jason and Simon for all their help to make the day as special as it was.

We got married in the Dunloe hotel last month and the experience was absolutely flawless. From the guidance and expertise of our wedding coordinator Rachael Hayes, the front office manager Simon Keating to the waiting staff who looked after us on the day. The professionalism and attention to detail of the whole crew was impeccable. The food was divine! We stayed three nights to make a little holiday for our family and our days were spent horse riding, playing tennis, fishing, in the playground and in the pool. It was wonderful. The manager Jason Clifford checked in on us a number of times ensuring we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this hotel and am so excited to see where it goes over the coming years!

Amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars. We went for one night with our 2 daughters and our service puppy. The views were breathtaking. The staff were all amazing. Rita was so pleasant to deal with. And she loved our pup Sadie. Our room was beautiful, spacious lovely terrace looking out onto the paddocks and the gap of dunloe. The kids playground and activities were first class. The kids loved exploring the grounds, fairy trails and the playground. The pool was perfect. At dinner we hadn't booked a table and they were fully booked but the staff were so accommodating and had us seated within 20mins at a beautiful table overlooking the gap. We have never stayed in a hotel so stunningly beautiful both inside and out. Our kids had a ball, and we never felt that they were in the way or too loud while playing about. We looking forward to visiting again. I would highly recommend for couples or families. This hotel has it all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I booked this stay to have quality time with my 10 year old daughter and we had that but not thanks to the hotel, which was disappointing and not a 5 star experience and certainly not worth the 1500 price tag for a 2 night stay b&b. The hotel is nowhere near the standard you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Everything from the food to the service and the room was disappointing. There was a smell of sewerage in the loo. Towels and toiletries were poor quality. There was no turndown service so after a long day out and about we came back to messy room and wet towels, no replenished water etc at bed time. The breakfast was really poor. We have had better in cheap airport hotels. The buffet was bog standard with no consideration for fresh, quality ingredients. The pastries were so poor, I’ve had better from the Lidl bakery. Zero seasoning on the hot breakfast. Avocado toast tasted like it came from a can and was slapped onto sliced pan. Basic fruit salad and boxes of cereal, yoghurt pots and not much else. I know this is a child friendly place - we have been to many child friendly 5 stars. This shouldn’t mean the quality is compromised. If you need inspiration on how to do child friendly in a 5 star way, look at the Merrion in Dublin, Martinhal in Portugal, Sani Beach in Greece and many many others. It’s possible to be family friendly and have standards in food and service and not have a chaotic environment with kids running through restaurant etc. The pool was basic - not a hint of 5 star luxury in the changing rooms. Thin, hard towels, cold changing facilities and nothing special at all. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with a decent playground and beautiful gardens. The setting is about the only thing that set it apart. Everything else is pretty scandalous to call a 5 star and I feel pretty robbed having shelled out 1500 for 2 night stay for just me and a 10 year old!

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing break, this is not the hotel for you as there are children everywhere. It is a family orientated hotel and, in my view, not a hotel for solo travelers or couples. The rooms are dated and you can hear guests next door. 'Garden View' rooms overlook a patch of clay. Service levels were patchy, but poor for the most part. The food and location are the best parts of this hotel, however, children were out of control in the restaurant. I would not consider this hotel to be of five star standard, it is four star at best.

We stayed for one night and everything from start to finish was amazing. We also had dinner in the Grill and food was out of this world. Staff were all amazing and so accommodating. The view from our room something you would see on a postcard 10/10 experience.

Stayed for a night this week and have to say from start to finish everything was fantastic...only dissapointing thing was we didnt stay longer....food,service,rooms and location were top notch...on checkout we found out the gift voucher we had was expired and to their credit they honoured it anyway...would have no issue in recommending to anyone looking for quality short break

Very Clean ,well run hotel,service in the bar and restairant 100%. good sizerooms and ensuites, pool very big with diffent depts and dedicated lane for the hard core swimmer. good sized gym, nice walks around the grounds, very central for visiting other sights,-- live music in the bar was very lound for its size ,hence i could not have an after dinner drink on 2 occasions

We recently celebrated our wedding in the Dunloe Hotel in September and we had an amazing time! We are so happy we chose the Dunloe to celebrate our wedding. From the moment we made contact with Rachael Hayes we knew we were in safe hands. Rachael is so friendly, has great attention to detail and is very welcoming. She helped us so much and really understood what we wanted for our wedding. The hotel itself is amazing with its stylish decor, beautiful views of the Gap and welcoming staff. We received great feedback from our family and friends. Some of our guests had children staying at the hotel, and the staff were able to organise childminding services with no issues. I can't reccomend the Dunloe Hotel enough as a wedding venue. The food service and atmosphere was excellent. Special thank you to Bridie who looked after us so well! Thanks to Jason also for helping us out on the morning of the wedding! The Dunloe will always hold a special place for us and we can't wait to visit again! Rachael & Ferdia
