"Personally, I didn’t enjoy this hotel very much, as it felt a bit old and somewhat eerie — especially when I checked in at midnight and had to do laundry alone, haha. That said, I wouldn’t say it’s a bad choice overall. The location is excellent — just a 2–3 minute walk from Fukushima Station — and the room rates are very reasonable. Getting a single room for around SGD 50 is a rare find in major cities like Tokyo or Osaka.
For travelers looking for a short stay or a convenient stopover before heading to Yamagata, this hotel is definitely a solid option."
"Toyoko Inn never fail us. The stay is always comfortable, though the room may not be big, but it is very functional and clean.
The breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly. The location was ideal, with lots of shops around the area."
AAussiePaulaThis getaway was exactly what I wanted. Traditional, immersive, comfortable, accomodating.
The staff came and greeted us in the car park, the dinner and breakfast was amazing, delicious, adventurous. And the onsen on the roof was perfect!
The staff thoroughly explained their processes. I spoke some japanese and they spoke only some english but they were very accomating with us and welcoming.
I would highly recommend and its also not far from town either.
It snowed a little the night we stayed and it was so magical!
We had our own private onsen at our room but the others in the ryokan are even better and available to be private, just lock door when your using.
NNaqueyaThis was a very lovely resort! The view from our room was breathtaking!
We called for pick-up from the train station and waited about 10 minutes. The next morning our ride back to the train station was waiting when we arrived in the lobby.
The beds were prepared at 6pm. Dinner was reservation only, which we did not have. We walked 20 minutes into the little town to a hidden gem Ramen shop that opened at 7pm and the food was amazing.
