A truly four-star hotel. Large, well appointed rooms and bathrooms, quality furniture, impeccable cleanliness, kind, polite, helpful staff. The restaurant is excellent (but quite expensive, it's true), also with a professional and very kind staff. I highlight mainly Miss Ludovica, a very special person and a very pretty young lady. The only minus - the hotel is a bit isolated, there is nothing of great interest nearby. But a free shuttle service to Funchal is provided, three times a day, with the exception of weekends and holidays. I recommend this hotel.
Very good hotel in an excellent location for an easy if hilly walk into town. The room was big and we were on a corner so had 3 balconies. The only thing that let it down was the furnishings could do with being cleaned ie sofa bed was grubby. However we found the beds very comfy and clean. The food was very good and staff could not have been more helpful. We would definitely go back in a few years.
Location is great. Housekeeping excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. My bed was comfortable but my husband's bed was not (can feel the springs). The hall carpets very dirty. Lack of staff. Poor customer service at reception. The process was not explained for the pool towels and the parking card. We did not receive pool and parking cards in our envelope. The roof top pool is very nice. No staff there though. No bar men available. It is extremely hot and there's no shade provided. We asked for umbrellas but were told they don't do that in October even though it was mid 30s!! It was too hot to be there without shades!! The neighbouring hotel had umbrellas. With staff attendants always present. The wall plant, at the pool, was knocked over and soil was left on the pool deck. The soil spillage was still there 3 days later. Breakfast is included. It has a lot of variety. Cold foods great (fruit, breads, cakes, cheeses) but hot food was a low rating (eggs tasteless, bacon and pancakes sit too long and are hard),
5star hotel offering 4 different restaurants.Japanese,Maderian,Italian and International.Standard of food was excellent in all restaurants. My only small grouch would be ,as ever food in the main restaurant is always warm and not hot.Although you can get fresh omelette an breakfast which was good. Our room was great with our own large veranda and loungers overlooking the sea and pool, perfect.Only other grouch was the nightly entertainment was average singing or a bit of dancing groups.95% of the staff were very friendly and very generous with drink measures.Would defo recommend.

We booked through Jet2 and I have to admit I hadn't done my homework very good. Our room was a Classic. On arrival found out that this is in the Reception Building. On the ground floor there is Reception, Bar and lounge areas. The bedrooms are located on the 1st floor - there are stairs and a lift. The other rooms with balcony's are located just across the road. On the ground floor and first floor - on the second floor is the pool and breakfast area. Our room was No. 136 which had 3 windows, which open - two windows overlooked the bar - just across the alley and the second window the road. The room is quite spacious - very clean and light from the windows, during the day. If you are a light sleeper, definitely a no. My husband wears hearing aids so once he took them out, he slept like a baby - but the noise goes on until the bars close after midnight. A good sized bed, very comfortable, pillows the same. There was only one chair - although when I asked we were provided with a dining chair. The wardrobe is opposite the door as you enter the room - you need the light on. The bathroom for two older, not so slim people was a bit tricky. The shower is to the left of the door, the sink directly in front and the toilet behind the door. So you have to open the door, lean back against the shower and the sink to squeeze round the door to get to the toilet. There is only one hook in the bathroom and not much shelf space in the room. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices and the staff are really pleasant and helpful. No problem with getting a sun bed in the pool area and the pool is very clean. We had a snack lunch on one occasion - a steak sandwich and it was excellent. The bar in the reception closed around 20.30. Daniel on reception was really helpful. The hotel is situated in a lovely spot, overlooking the harbour. Around the hotel are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. We tried quite a few and they were all very good, quality and quantity of food. There is a local bus stop and the HOHO bus stops just up the hill from the hotel. Madeira is a beautiful island and is well worth a visit. The people are very welcoming.

We spent two weeks in the paradise of Madeira, surrounded by the care of Quinta do Furao team members. Excellent breakfasts and even more wonderful dinners pleasantly tickled our taste buds, and the wonderful Rita and her colleagues provided us with the perfect experience. Hotel Quinta do Furao is an exceptionally nice place to spend a holiday - it's quiet, peaceful and the hotel's surroundings and views are breathtaking (especially the mornings and beautiful sunrises). Almost everything on this wonderful island was wonderful, so we were able to spend a very special 20th wedding anniversary there. Almost, because as a result of various circumstances, this wonderful place on the planet was engulfed by forest fires high in the mountains. However, this made us experience even more care from the Quinta do Furao team. Every day we were informed of the situation with the fires, which trails on our beloved pearl of the Atlantic were safe and which still needed to be postponed. If I had to express my rating for Quinta do Furao in a numerical way it would be a 6 on a five-point scale :).
Me and my partner did enjoy staying at the hotel. This was our first holiday together. We did majority of the things we wanted to do. Its only a 5 or 10mins to Funchal and you can book using bolt though we found all our bolt driver weird - one when to the wrong hotel and tried to tell us to come to him then dropped us off at a red traffic light. Near a few good places to eat if you are not eating at the hotel. TILES is definitely a place to try! They have a supermarket too great for snacks. Hotel has 5 pools including a kid pool. Book your spa treatments early honestly book on arrival! We are a couple in our 20s the general demographic is ALOT older but might be because we when during school time Only thing is the bed ours squeaked anytime you moved or coughed other than that comfy sleep
Excellent hotel giving me all I need for a summer holiday. Not a traditional ‘Brits abroad’ type of place. Comfortable rooms (it was our second visit). The pool area on the roof has fabulous views over the sea and all of Funchal . It is fairly quiet, comfortable and the bar staff are great. The breakfasts are good but best of all was meeting ‘Bella’ the robot. She really for everyone smiling at the start of the day.
We loved our stay here, the hotel is lovely and the staff our so friendly. We only had breakfast and drinks at the hotel, the breakfast was amazing and there was so much choice, and the drinks were also great and very reasonably priced. Most of our time was spent exploring Madeira, which is beautiful! and any questions that we needed to ask the staff about things like scooter hire, or restaurant and bar recommendations they were always very knowledgeable and helpful. The room was clean and comfy with amazing views over the pool and ocean and we loved it!
RReyho0nThe hotel is in a good location and the sea view room which we reserved had a nice view of ocean. But, I need to mention that this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The whole building is old and they kept it in an old fashion way. The bath is not good, they don't offer even water in daily service and neither tea. (which is expected from a four star hotel)
The elevator is old and always full, really not suitable for an eleven floor building.
