Destiny Scotland -The Malt House Apartments

A very neat and tidy apar**ent which suitable for family. Location is convenient and easy to find. Apar**ent owner is also easy to contact if problems arise.

The 2 bedroom apar**ent was spotless and very comfortable. Central location to access the city centre. Keyless access. The only issue was we are both in our 60s with reasonable mobilty and our daughter has fibromialga so we did find it difficult to navigate the cases up the stairs to the second floor as there was no lift. The apar**ents are well worth the money though, everything is catered for and I had reason to speak to one of the staff before we arrived and she was very helpful and accomadating. I would definitely recommend them.

Great location for walking around Edinburgh. Beautiful apar**ent, spotlessly clean, kitted out with everything we needed. Seamless online check in. Customer service was also first class as we had a glitch with our door entry code. Problem sorted out within minutes by Irmina. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.

We usually book with Destiny Scotland when we visit Edinburgh and again were not disappointed. The location is perfect, only five minutes from the centre and the apar**ent was very well appointed, clean and warm. The only reason for not giving five is that the apar**ent is very dark, needing the lights on at all times and they are fairly dim. Would not stop us returning though.

Cannot fault this property at all. The location was perfect for a 5 day stay in Edinburgh. Communication and support when needed were spot on. Destiny Scotland had thought of everything - even down to leaving us a couple of washing detergents/dishwasher tablets, airers for laundry, iron alongside bedding, towels, hair dryers etc. The apar**ent was beautifully furnished, spacious and a perfect relaxation spot. Also impressed by the security of the property - gated entrance with code, and a secure luggage storage area which we used on arrival and departure. Will be back and will recommend to others too!

We spent little time in the apar**ent (no 10) as we were visiting our granddaughter with her mother and father. However it was very satisfactory for our needs. There is what looked like a nice restaurant just across the road (Fig & Faun?) It would have been nice if both rooms had ensuites but on room had a direct door into the shared bathroom but the other had to enter from the corridor so it meant juggling with door locks. However the beds (king size) and pillows were very comfortable.

At first glance, this is a beautiful apar**ent and large enough to feel comfortable after smaller spaces mostly throughout the country. On the plus side, the comfy sofa, the tv, the high pressure shower, big fridge and all the appliances. However, the bed is unfortunately far from comfortable (springs) and we had some problems with the appliances: woke us up in the early morning beeping without reasons.

Our apar**ent, No 7 in the Malt House, left us somewhat disappointed. The photos illustrating the apar**ent made it look bright, which was not the case. What you do not see is the heavy net curtain on the french doors to stop neighbouring apar**ents looking in nor the need to keep the blinds down on the other windows as they are directly facing the windows just across a very narrow street. This makes the apar**ent very dark unless you want to be looked at by the people in the kitchen opposite. To compensate you need all the lights on and these are significantly underpowered. We booked the apar**ent having found it on ***********, which clearly shows that the bed is an extra large king sized bed, (normally 180 or even 200cm x 200cm), in fact the bed is a UK king size bed (160cm x 200cm). This is an important consideration for us when making a booking. Most importantly, and despite all the commentary in the apar**ent manual, the apar**ent was not very clean. We found the bedside tables to be covered in dust, stains on the floor, indicating that it hadn't been recently mopped and mould on the grouting in the shower. Both the sink and shower had slow drainage, hairs in the shower plug hole being a contributing factor. There were also issues with the safety of two of the plug sockets. We did report much of the above to the customer services at the end of our stay so that they could rectify it for the next clients, we appreciate that had we told them at the beginning of our stay they could have rectified some of the issues but we did not want the inconvenience of being disturbed during our short stay. There were positives, the apar**ent is well equipped, the shower is powerful (unlike in many of the places we stayed in on our tour of Scotland), Wi-fi worked well. The apar**ent is really well placed in the west end, minutes from the centre and transport hubs. Plenty of local restaurants.

This property was perfectly located with a 20 minute walk to the Royal Mile, and only 10 minutes from Princes Street so loads of shopping and wonderful dining close by. A local pub is a one minute walk with friendly staff and good food as well! We stayed in a two bedroom apar**ent and the space was perfect with lots of closet room also. Everything was completely spotless, and we received excellent communication throughout our stay.
