"First, this hotel is in a very remote location, with nothing nearby, making it difficult to get around. Secondly, the hotel's design clearly shows a lot of effort, but it's not well maintained. We were moved four rooms in one day. Within 10 minutes of checking in, they told us there was a plumbing problem. After a long wait, they moved us to a different room type. After checking in, we still had no water. In the third room, large bugs kept dropping onto the bed and onto our bodies throughout the night, which was terrifying. We finally got our final room cleaned and changed after 10 PM. We finally got some sleep, but the next morning, the stationary hair dryer was broken again! We had our laundry done, and they told us we didn't need to iron it, only wash it. But when we checked out, they still charged us for the ironing! Luckily, my husband had texted them about our request via What's Up, and they were able to get rid of the extra charge. This completely delayed our plans for the better part of a day!"

"The hotel is generally good, but overpriced. Due to its proximity to nature, be prepared for monkeys running on the roofs of the buildings and wild elephants in the surrounding area. The views around are breathtaking. On the downside: weak breakfasts (wide selection, but not much tasty food) and insects in the room."

"An enjoyable two nights spent here. Very pleasant landscaping- trees and foliage. The rooms were roomy, comfortable with mosquito nets, tea and coffee facilities, wi fi access. Sanjeevani and her team made us the most delicious breakfasts- a wide assortment of Lankan food (stringhoppers, roti, godamba, pancake, toast, curries and sambols, fruit salad). Afternoons were spent relaxing by the pool (after climbing Dambulla and Sigiriya ) it was nice to return to a cool and quiet place. Will we return again? Absolutely. Any suggestions? Please no air fresheners in the rooms."

"There is fungus on ceilings and the mold scent is unbearable. Photos attached. We asked to cancel the second night as we are traveling with a toddler and this is highly unhealthy, but they didn’t agree and we had to pay. Not recommended to anyone"

"We had a great stay at Purasanda Villa. It is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and feels like a home away from home. The food was amazing, and Mr. Weerasekara and his family were very kind and helpful. They even arranged a tour around Dambulla so we could see the main sights in a short time. The villa also feels very safe for female solo travellers or small groups of women. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Purasanda Villa to anyone visiting the area"

"We have stayed in many hotels in Dambulla but this one of the best place and we would love to visit again soon. The front office staff one Matheesha is the one who handled our booking and recommend him as he is so kind and polite to accommodate my request time to time. Room was very clean - i requested them for a better view room we got the Quad room instead of Tripple whereas the surrounding is amazing. Room service was really fast and the staff too is efficient. F&B Restaurant - Food is really tasty though limited spread due to the offer may be but we really enjoyed. One Mr. Indika and Mr. Attanayake is one of the asset i would say. They really handled with kindness and with great attitude and more with full of respect. We visited with another family and we really appreciate the hospitality Mr. Indika and Mr. Attanayake provided. Bar Counter - One of the elderly gentlemen who really had taken time to explain about the history of the hotel and we were so happy to spend some time with him too. We really appreciate him too and he too is one of the asset to the hotel. Overall we really loved the place and visit may be will visit soon with more friends. Thank you"
