A top location in the mountains with all equipment available in the villa . A beautiful view over the mountains , the valley and the sea . An amazing breakfast that is different every day Very clean place and good bed . Helpful owner . We will come back

The villa is a quaint medieval villa built originally in the 1800s . This is definitely NOT a place to stay if you do not have a car or other mode of transport. We arrived at 9.30pm and there was no one to meet us. Finally we were able to contact the owner and he told us which villa we were allocated . The fridge and Power points were not working in the kitchen. The switch had tripped in the electrical switchboard, which we finally located. There are no shops . We were isolated in the mountains. After reading the Information booklet, we learnt that there is a mini mart on site where we could get some ingredients to snack, as we had not eaten. Next day, we learnt that there is a tavern run by an elderly lady that does not speak English. We stayed for 5 days and the last two days, there was no hot water to our villa , so we could not shower. The owner , Kon could not fix this! On a positive note, the owner Kon was very pleasant and the villa was very clean. The breakfast was delicious but not suitable if you had a special dietary requirements

If you are looking for a taste of traditional Crete, this is the perfect location. Set in the hills with breathtaking views this gorgeous hideaway allows you to see the Traditional side of Crete away from the tourist spots but close enough to the key areas of interest. The attention to detail in the Villa is remarkable. Each item in our villa was carefully selected to be an authentic reminder of the period. From the unique bathrooms to the massive door keys, it was truly a taste of Traditional Crete. The breakfast was perfect and often "Bella" the resident greeter was on hand to welcome you. There is a small "store" that operates on the honor system and is accessible 24/7. Samonas is a welcome break from the tourist scene and allows you to experience the real Crete. This was our second trip to Samonas and we are planning a third.

We finally returned to Samonas after being unable to travel due to the pandemic. It was great to finally be back, and see that it is still an incredible place to vacation. Konstantinos and Irina make you feel so welcome. They have everything you might need to pamper and indulge, and Konstantinos is incredibly responsive to any requests. Our daughter and son-in-law joined us there for a week, and they too thoroughly enjoyed their stay. It was their first trip to Crete, and they loved it. Can't wait to go back, and thanks again, Konstantinos, for a wonderful stay.

Our villa was so relaxing, well maintained, and quiet. We had a long travel day on arrival and were able to crash out and catch up without any bother. The owner is quite possibly the best proprietor of any property I have ever been too - thank you so much Konstantinos! I could not imagine going to Crete and staying anywhere else now. My in-laws were staying in a separate villa, so we were able to see two of the villas. They are well appointed and well decorated. There is also common space to meet other travelers and guests and/or spend time with the people you are meeting. Very good views from any spot on the property as well. Worth the trip up the mountain, worth the visit to Crete. Short side story - one of our bags did not make it to Crete and the airline was not able to get in touch with us, so they called Konstatinos; he worked with the airline and made sure our bags were at our door when we woke up in the morning - truly a really good person.

One of the most beautiful places I‘ve ever been!! The view, the apartments, the host, the breakfast, the pool - just brilliant! Traditionally renovated, lovely and absolutely clean rooms. We will definitely come back soon.

A very authentic place. Their hospitality is beyond what we have experienced around the world. You feel like home, you feel the heart of the owner and staff. You forget the trip up the mountain when you step into this little paradise. It is quiet and friendly. We had a barbecue one night with the settings of the mountain in the backgrounds- so beautiful.

Hôtel éloigné de tout, route très escarpée et pénible a reparcourir de nuit. Aucune commodité autour hormis une taverne où on y mange 1 fois mais pas plus. La chambre est vendue avec 1 lit et1 canapé lit qui n’a absolument rien d’un couchage. Nous sommes partis en milieu de séjour pour ne pas gâcher nos vacances. Hyper décevant comme début de vacances
