We booked three rooms for 21st to 23rd November, 2024 from GoIbibo. This property is not at all properly maintained. Photos available in Google and in the travel apps are from the time when it was first opened. There are large patches which appear due to humidity and dirts, with growth of fungus - all over the ceiling, walls and the toilet. The electric cord of the geyser was open, without any proper insulation, and thus it was a risk for electrocution. The dormitory for the drivers is very shabby, warm and humid. We had two drivers who eventually couldn't stay there and we had to take another room for them. We were supplied with blankets. It was not even cold, therefore we asked for clean bedsheets. They couldn't provide those. The bathroom doesn't have any exhaust fan and it stinks, and sometimes the room also. It often had me wish that I had some room freshener with me. Restaurant staffs are mostly rude. They close the kitchen too early for this time of the year. One of them, while serving coffee in the room, literally had to mention not to spoil the bed sheet with coffee! This resort doesn't have any open space and no parking facility. They arrange Baul songs in the evening, but as they have no space inside, they do it on the road outside the resort. According to MMT and GoIbibo, this is a 3 star property but trust me, we didn't get the feeling of star rated properties in there. Food is good, bit pricey. Location is great, just beside the Sonajhuri haat. Staffs are not professional and not properly trained. In short, I don't recommend it and will not stay here next time we visit Shantiniketan.
