Bega Downs Motor Inn

Have stayed previously. Clean & comfortable rooms. The rooms I have stayed in could do with the air conditioning upgraded as old & noisy. But reasonably priced. I do like that they provide the facilities to cater for your own breakfast. Plenty of parking onsite. Close to town.

It was the last place available during the Chris**as break while we passed through as our original plans fell through and while it was the least expensive option, we got what we paid for (plus the traditional Chris**as period tax) - Positives - The service we got was great - it was a simple here is my name - there is your key - Just what I like. The pool was small but popular with the families there and there as well as lots of people outside of their units having great chats with their neighbours. The water was hot and while you could tell when other rooms turned their showers on, the pressure dropped a little but the heat stayed consistent. the rooms were clean and did not smell of cigarettes although there was an ashtray outside our window - Negatives - The AC was probably a late 80's early 90's model and is in desperate need of an upgrade - Sadly it was a really hot night and while the AC was a cool savior in the night, the price we paid was a front seat to an industrial engine droning all night long. I have been to Rock gigs that were quieter than the volume of the AC - But even when I cracked it and turned it off, you could still clearly hear the neighbours jet engines preparing for take-off next door. To say I had a restful sleep would be a lie. The Windowframe in the bathroom was rotted away There was no stopper/gasket in the sink, to which my toothbrush was an unfortunate victim - Swallowed up and delivered to the bin. With that said - we got what we paid for. If you are looking for cost-effective accomodation close to the centre of Bega I would 100% recommend you stay here if its not going to be a really hot/cold night. If you have a few coins extra I'd check out other accommodation and check if they had a more modern split-system. It might give you the 8hrs you so desperately seek!

Bega Downs is perfect for a stop when traveling to the far south coast of NSW. It’s clean, carpet is in good condition and bed was comfortable. Good launching pad with towns like Tathra and Merimbula within 25 minutes

The room was very spacious and the bed comfy. Cutlery, crockery and glassware were provided, as well as dishwashing liquid and tea towel. The room had a very musty smell when we first walked in, but we got used to it. The wall a/c was noisy, but very effective.

Great for a short stay while traveling for work. Staff very friendly. Only issue was the air con in the room was broken, but the staff let me know this on my arrival and already had a heater set up instead (staying in June = quite cold weather).

No restaurant as viewed on line, terrible small wine glasses, toilet paper system shocking! Not as close to town as promoted.

Clean and comfortable, with surprisingly good equipment for a motel e.g. large fridge, microwave, toaster and basic crockery and cutlery - certainly enough to make breakfast or a simple evening meal. Very quiet at night. Well located for the Catholic Church, which is immediately opposite.

Overall the room was large and the shower was hot. Would stay here again

The stay was ok, the bathroom fan made such a racket that I didn’t use it for fear of distressing the rooms next to me. No staff at reception on arrival at 4.15pm seems unusual, no breakfast of any type available. I had an early start so even a continental would have been nice. Reception didn’t open until 10.30 on the Sunday and so I was well and truly on the road by then.
