My Mum and Dad stayed here for 6 nights, it was a gift for my Mums 70th birthday. The hotel was the highlight of their stay in Barcelona, they said it was amazing, the staff were fantastic, particularly housekeeping (my Dad used to be a hotel Manager and my Mum was Head Housekeeper so they have high standards) the roof garden was also a highlight of their stay and the area of Poblenau is very nice. The hotel left a card in their room wishing my Mother a Happy Birthday as I had mentioned it in an email. The hotel are easy to communicate with by phone as well, as we had some questions before we arrived. Thank you so much for looking after my parents and giving them such a lovely stay.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very welcoming as well the staff and hotel. Great walking distance to the metro. The breakfast was superb. Can’t fault any of it

Lovely hotel, very clean, great quality and nice touches to rooms.
Location is great if you don’t mind being a bit away from the busy centre. 15 mins walk to Sagrada familia, through a nice park with a great kids playground. Really nice shopping centre near by that’s handy…. The breakfast is great as not a mass produced buffet but a freshly cooked selection from a menu. Four corners is a brilliant place for a pizza too

Many different rotating poorly trained staff at front desk. One called room close to 10 at night to get ANOTHER credit card retainer for misc costs after I made another reservation for another night.
Extremely loud party atmosphere every night downstairs.

I think me and friends went at a bad time for the hotel. My stay wasn’t ideal. Check in wasn’t ready. We had to wait 3hours after check in time after a long flight. The water on the property didn’t work twice during our stay. They tried to accommodate but there were so much minor problems. The food wasn’t very good at the property. We were served shrimp with the poop still in the shrimp. Overall I was very underwhelmed.

We understand that paid influencers like this hotel. The staff is just the right amount of unfriendly, creating a general sense of insecurity. Hipster service deluxe. You don't feel particularly welcome anywhere.
The hotel's design itself is nice, of course. That's where the money has been spent, clearly. Everything looks good in pictures. But a hotel is about so much more. A good hotel experience should create a sense of security, exclusivity, privacy, and where all visitors feel seen. There is none of that at The Hoxton.
