We typically stay at AirBNB's when we travel in Europe, but decided to splurge on this place in order to have hotel amenities while we were relaxing on the nearby beach. Aside from the awesome location (overlooking the water and in the middle of the main square), this place was twice the price of most places we looked at and yet was not nearly as nice. It's an apartment but they don't give you any amenities for an apartment and yet also don't give housekeeping services as if it's a hotel. When we arrived there was a ton of trash loose under the kitchen sink from the previous guest and no trash can anywhere except a small one in the bathroom so you can see why that's where they threw their trash (and no one had cleaned it up). At one point my son spilled something in the kitchen and there are no towels, sponges, ANYTHING to clean it up - not even washcloths or hand towels in the bathroom. We weren't going to waste our only bathroom towels on the spill so resorted to cleaning it up with toilet paper from the bathroom. The furniture all feels like old Ikea furniture, there was no way to take a shower without getting the whole thing completely sopping wet, and there was an old toothbrush on the ground next to the vanity when we arrived. Every time I tried to talk to the front desk they were enthralled in conversations with other staff members and wouldn't pause to talk to the guests. We had to complain three times to three different people to get someone to clean up the trash in the kitchen and the housecleaning didn't do anything in our room the whole time we were there except make the beds. And don't be deceived by the pictures of the pool. Based on where it is situated, in June it only gets about one hour of sun a day and the rest of the day it is cold in the shade. So much for staying at a hotel! I'm back to Airbnb's. I have found their hosts to be better than a hotel like this!
We booked a Superior room bed & breakfast for two weeks in January. This is what we liked … The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Rosa & the cleaning ladies. The place was very clean. The room had air con which you could turn up if you wanted some heat in the evening. The water was always hot in the walk in shower. The bed was huge and comfy. There was a safe in the large wardrobe. The patio had 2 plastic chairs and a table plus 2 sun beds (no cushions). It was very quiet once the bathroom window was closed. There’s bath & hand towels, as well as pool towels, soap dispenser and hair drier. There was a fridge in the room too (Tip: keep the cupboard door open as much as possible so the fridge stays cold. Not sure why it’s kept in a cupboard?) Mercadona supermarket next door, very handy for cold drinks, snacks etc. There’s car parking at the front and back of the hotel if needed. Best of all, it’s no smoking!! Things I can’t say we didn’t like, but were downsides to staying there. The restaurant was closed for the whole of January which we didn’t know. We did find some lovely places to eat though. It’s a long way to walk to the beach and most restaurants, but there is a bus (number 1) that drops you off outside the hotel so you don’t have to walk back. Stops at 9pm. This bus only does a circular and isn’t the Alsa bus. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. We got over that by buying our own cereal and fresh milk from Mercadona and eating it in the breakfast room. The pillows were really hard so we asked for some softer ones. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Our third visit to this hotel and we can highly recommend staying here. We have always had one of the front rooms with a large sunny balcony. (Ask for this when booking direct to the host). Very clean and well serviced. The restaurant serves top quality meals and their lunchtime menu of the day is great value. A few staff speak and understand some English which just added to the atmosphere of this family run business. Excellent spanish hospitality and will return in the future.
Check in would've been easy but we only had my husbands passport! Luckily we had a photo of it which was accepted. Beautiful room on the second floor, air conditioning, fridge, complimentary water, shampoo etc, comfortable bed, very well appointed. The hotel is so convenient close to the centre of Nerja and close to a car park...22€ for less than 24 hours. We will be back. The upstairs bar and jacuzzi were a bonus..not connected to the hotel, but fabulous views over Nerja, amazing cocktails and tapas.
This is a fabulous hotel. A perfect location. Very near a beautiful square that joins the Placa de Europa. Many restaurants and shops all around. The Outdoor cafes were very fun to sit and people watch. The entire hotel is spotless and beautifully furnished. Our room was wonderful, with a super comfy bed and great bathroom. Some rooms have their own private terraces . The rooftop terrace with small pool and many lounge chairs, was amazing! The complimentary breakfast room was sparkling clean with a large assortment of delicious food. All staff were really great. It was PERFECT!!
Great little city centre hotel. When I first visited Nerja I stayed in the outskirts in villa land. Fed up searching for a taxi at the end of an evening or a longer than wanted walk back I found this gem of a place! It is a great 3 star hotel with a variety of rooms, which are spotless and comfortable. Spoilt for choice you can visit the beach a few minutes walk away or use the rooftop pool with snack bar. A lovely place to relax. Some people complain about the noise from the street but this doesn’t bother me at all. No need to pack pool/beach towels as they supply them for a small deposit, the towels can be swapped for clean ones for 1 euro which covers cleaning, very reasonable. Staff are friendly and helpful! I can’t comment on breakfast as only book room only. My first choice accommodation in Nerja!
ผผู้เข้าพักWonderful experience in Apartamentos Abril. The flat was located in Plaza España very close to the whole town and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. Everything very clean and kitchen very well equipped. Montse is lovely and we will be back next year for sure.
Rui Monica is a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, polite and very friendly and helpful staff. There's a good selection of food at the restaurant to please all tastes. We stayed on the 6th floor, with a partial view of the pool and sea. The room was quite large with plent of space for hanging clothes in the wardrobe and a good supply of hangers, there were several chests of drawers also. The fridge although small was adequate. A good sized shower-room. The king-sized double bed was very comfortable. Outside the pool area was also very nice with plenty of loungers, although you get the very early morning selfish people claiming ”their” places with their towels then disappearing for the rest of the day. It's a good-sized pool, though a little on the cold side on entering, but you'll soon get used to it. The benefit being it was never crowded so plenty of room for swimming. There's a security gate for access to the beach and sea, which is very close. We used to have a swim in the sea then return to thre pool-side to lounge. The night-time entertainment was fine, with the shows starting at 9pm. The drinks were resonably priced about 7 euros for a beer and a glass of wine. It's a short walk to the centre with all it's shops, bars and eating places. Our two weeks stay at this place was one of our better holidays.
That’s a simple place that literally makes you feel like home. Very tidy, clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If you’re going by car, they have a few parking spots in front of the building, which is very full all the time, but there is another big parking zone a 50m away. So parking wouldn’t be any problem. We are already planning the next holiday to stay at the same place. I would definitely recommend that place.
Very basic place but for the money I really couldn’t complain…. If you stay here your definitely best to have a car to get to the beach, town etc as it’s quiet a distance if your walking … Air conditioning worked great, bed nice and comfortable and the room was also spacious. We chose not to eat in the hotel as the breakfast was basic ham, cheese, bread etc All in all worth it for the price.
