Hotel Aggelos Kefalonia

Amazing hotel. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful, friendly staff. Great breakfast. Perfect location. Room 301 was superb. Very highly recommend. Five minutes walk into main centre of town. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't always good, but we made the best of it! Hired a car locally. Fantastic holiday!

We had a brilliant 7 day stay at Aggelos Hotel, Kefalonia. Our room was the lovely 301 with its large balcony overlooking the water. From it we loved watching the boats and the world go by and it was especially entertaining on cruise ship days when we watched passengers walking by, having disembarked from their ship or rushing to embark at the end of their trip. The room, serviced every day was scrupulously clean, as was the rest of the hotel. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts; Greek yogurt and fresh fruit, breads, pastries sweet and savoury, eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheese, cereals, cakes which we ate on the terrace every day, enjoying the sunshine. All the hotel staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly at all times. Aggelos Hotel was in a great location, a short walk along the front from the main harbour, towards the cruise ship terminal, more peaceful than being in the centre of the town. It was perfect from which to wander in lovely Argestoli with its many tavernas and restaurants. A short distance away was the ferry terminal for Lixouri, just a 20 minute journey away, and well worth doing. We watched the ferry going past every half hour from our balcony. Buses go frequently to Lassi and its beaches, as short distance away. For a 7 day trip it was worthwhile hiring a car, as well as getting to and from the airport, where we picked up from Pefanis car hire, we spent a day in the north of the island and a day in the south. the rest of the time we walked in and around Argostoli and made the most of our balcony chilling out. Aggelos Hotel was great find, we would love to return and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Thank you so much, Agellos Hotel!

Loved this little hotel. Perfect location to walk to all the restaurants and shops in Argostoli. The breakfast was delicious every day. The staff were excellent. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend.

Super hotel overlooking the sea in a quiet part of Argostoli. Lovely room with a sea view and balcony, Good breakfast with plenty of choices and friendly helpful staff. Ideally placed for either strolling along the sea front into town, or as a centre to explore the rest of the island. Plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The central square has a lovely vibe on an evening, and we were lucky enough to see the famous sea turtles on several occasions. In summary, an excellent small hotel ideal for a relaxing holiday.

Perfect location, spotlessly clean,but......this family run hotel did not feel a happy place. Our room.was a "city view",which in reality was a back road overlooking a building site.The room was very small,2 people cant pass around the beds at the same time.The shower is also very small,with only a feeble shower curtain to prevent water from.spraying onto.the floor. The patio just managed to get 2 small chairs and a table on,but an overgrown tree took over most of the space.I would never expect the tree to be removed, but it could easily have been trimmed. The website claimed the hotel had a terrace snack bar and bar.I didnt see any food for sale during my stay,but the 'bar' consisted of helping yourself to an item from.the fridge in the very small.reception area and hoping a member of staff would offer a glass. We chose to.sit on the terrace ,which consisted of about 8 small tables,because our patio was not user friendly.Whenever we were sitting on the terrace (which has fabulous views),there was always at least one member of the family sitting outside at the same time,usually smoking,but making no effort at conversation with us.It made us feel uncomfortable. It was particularly dissapointing because the hotel.promotes itself as family run,we expected the proprietors to be far more welcoming. The website also offers storage for cases,we had a late flight and asked to.leave our cases ,the man on reception desk just pointed to a corner of the reception area,where anyone could have accessed our cases. I feel this hotel needs to update its website,so that guests have a truer representation of what is actually provided.

The view was stunning but unfortunately, our room had termites all over the floor. The rooms need some updating. The bathroom was fully updated but the rooms definitely need some attention. Overall it was worth staying for only the 2 nights. I dont think i would stay longer then that. The beds were uncomfortable as well. Its location is great though. The view is nice and the walk to food and shops is not bad at all.

Excellent stay, good value for money, very clean and comfortable rooms and perfect location for city and beaches. Quiet location. Our room had a fab balcony and sea view. A wonderful stay - will definitely return

Absolutely fabulous hotel, deserves more than 2 star rating, Sofia was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent we only had breakfast but every taste was catered for, from cooked to continental from the buffet style menu, choice of seating in dining room, garden area at the rear or Seaview at the front, Room was serviced twice a day, all lovely friendly staff, situated on a oneway street so no noisy traffic, all amenities a short walk away, hair dryer was powerful, coffee and tea supplied with kettle in room, stocked fridge, comfortable divan beds, 3 wall sockets, open wardrobe with 2 lower drawers, bedside tables with drawers, TV although no English channels, modern and freshly tiled shower and toilet immaculate, balcony small but adequate, would definitely stay here again and highly recommend, although no pool you can climb down a couple of steps into the sea in front of the hotel and even have dolphins swimming there which we spotted
