My husband and I stayed at the hotel for four nights over New Year. I liked that it is located in a residential area, and I loved that it is right by the river. It was fun watching the party boats go by, each with their own theme going on, and we were able to see the fireworks at two locations in the distance. You won’t be in the middle of the party if you stay here over New Year, but it’s just what I was looking for. The boats start cruising up and down the river at about 8am. Some might find this noisy, but I’m up by that time anyway so didn’t bother me. I can’t remember exactly when they stopped, might’ve been at 9pm, except on New Year’s Eve of course. The hotel has a lovely theme, makes you feel you’re really at the heart of Bangkok. I just wish it was a little cleaner. There’s a pool in front of the main entrance, but I don’t think anyone would dare swim in it, doesn’t give a good first impression. The night we arrived there was a dead roach by the stairs to the main entrance. The chandelier in the lobby has never been dusted, neither are the table tops or decorations in the room. There were some spider webs here and there in corners. I wonder; are the furnishings deliberately left like that to fit the “old rustic” theme? The bathroom towels are a little worn-out. I didn’t like the room slippers either, they’re the multi-use kind, and I’m not sure if they’re properly cleaned. The toiletries are a little too perfumy for me. There’s shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion. They all come in small plastic containers. I liked one item at breakfast: the boiled chicken with rice. It’s delicious and fulfilling, and comes with a tangy hot sauce on the side. The shrimp fried rice comes only with 3 pieces of shrimp, not enough protein for me. And I saw from people ordering the Western breakfast dishes (with eggs) that the portions were small. I wish the fruit platter had more fruits, given they’re plentiful in Thailand. I was disappointed by the quality and quantity. The orange juice on offer is packaged, and for some reason tastes like the box that it came in. I have a feeling it wasn’t stored properly. The coffee is good, comes from one of those automated bean-to-cup espresso machines, so you can ask for lattes, americanos, cappuccinos…etc. This is my first experience in Bangkok, so I’m not sure how to compare it to other hotels around. I was willing to pay the price (USD ~350/night) for a riverside suite with a balcony over New Year. But for next time, I’ll try to find a better place.
This boutique hotel has gorgeous river views from riverside rooms and the breakfast room. You could sit and watch boats and river activities all day, its lovely. The hotel is out of the main tourist area, within the community, and 15 minutes walk to ferries. There are shops and food within 5 minutes walk. We loved the the electic room which was fun and had everything we needed. The staff were excellent and happily catered for every need. Breakfast options were a bit limited but good food, although the restaurant is not open every night. Hot tip, ask to see the rooftop view and take your camera!

This hotel is overpriced. We paid 360 USD for New Year'Night. The hotel is very poorly maintained and dirty everywhere you look, the equipment is old. When we arrived the garbage was stored in front of the entrance. Breakfast is extremely disappointing . Anywhere else in BKK they offer better breakfast. Time for breakfast is set up when you first check in, better not to be late or they will call you. We only had a cup of coffee, 2 fried eggs one lonely toast, tiny slice of bacon , 1/4 of boiled potatoes overly dress with mayo, one slice of may be sausage. There is a pool but it'hard to recognize it because they never clean the surrounding area. The only positive things is some of the staff that is friendly and the view on the river from the rooms that have balcony . Unfortunately the few positive aspects are not enough to balance the rest of miserable details. It's a pity because the building has a lot of charms and should be better preserved. Position is excellent, on the river, in the middle of the Old Bangkok and close to BTS station.
Hotel is lovely, the staff is amazing. So helpful and accommodating. Patio is wonderful. As it was my first trip to Thailand from the "west", and a solo one (and first night in the country) I didn't realize the area was pretty standard and safe.
If you want to be right on the river and want some charm that you don't find in the rack and stack chain hotels then stay here. Firstly we had to approach a couple of airport taxis to find one to take us, and then he got lost and we had to navigate him with Google maps. Easiest way to go is say it's near ICONSIAM and then just direct the driver from there. It's just around the corner, first road on the right past the BTS station. There is an Amdaeng sign on both sides of the street and down towards the bottom of that street is an alley to your left with another sign and an arrow. This place is gorgeous, pay the extra for a river facing room, you get a private balcony and you can just chill out and watch the river traffic flow past. The bed is unbelievably comfortable, not the usual slightly softer than cement type you usually get in Asia. It was the first full nights sleep I had in 2 weeks of travelling. The location is perfect, it's quiet and peaceful but still close enough to easily get to all the Bangkok madness you would ever want or need. The staff were brilliant, the food was great and I couldn't fault anything.

It's like a charming lady sit along the riverside, rustic red appreance hotel and antique furniture displays in every corner, you really enjoy take a stay in here. We also enjoy dinner the first night, and order some seafood, those are delicious but the price say reasonable, because we can stay here all the night. Watching the cruises drove by, and you can hear the songs in boat.
