Sparkling clean although understand a reason for that is that you can’t cook here or even use their cutlery. They just supply some cups (though there is a kitchen sink on the top floor by the fridge).
This place doesn’t really have a lounge. A problem with sharing the ground floor lounge with a cafe is that when I’m sitting there a cafe waitress comes by expecting me to order something.
Good location. Good facilities and amenities.
The main problem is, there is no place to charge your phone in the capsule. They provide one, but the position and the size not fit for normal charger.
ผผู้เข้าพักI highly recommend staying over at this place. It's quaint little accommodation - a cross between a tiny house and a home stay. The bed and pyjamas were comfortable. The shower had a nice water pressure. The toaster was a nice touch to heat up my breakfast. But the real reason for staying here was the fantastic 'yunkai' in the morning. Right on the balcony. You can view it, then go back to bed afterwards.
Only one big challenge - if u do not drive or are not a confident and competent driver, it would be a challenge to get here. Because the location is quite isolated. I highly recommend buying your dinner first and arriving before it's dark, as it's really pitch black after sunset. If you are not used to such driving, do take note of this.
But otherwise do come and stay at this new accommodation.
ผผู้เข้าพักStayed at Sho Inn for 1 night in Otaru. It’s a little out of the way from the Otaru station if you do not drive, but they offer shuttle service to the Otaru Canal and Otaru station when you check out! The host Hideshi was incredibly kind, even going the extra mile to bring my neck pillow, which I had accidentally left in the accommodation after check out, to the Otaru station at my preferred time that evening. It was a gesture testament of the great hospitality of the Japanese. Would definitely recommend this place especially if you’re a solo traveller / prefer your own private space instead of going to those hostels with double deckered beds and curtains!
