An old family hotel that is in desperate need of renovation. The staff were friendly but the credit card machine could not work, so spent a long time at the front desk whilst the owner tried to solve that and it seemed he was not willing to give me a room key until he could. The room, the furniture and the textiles were all old and particularly the bathroom was very old, so imagine difficult to clean. However, very close to the local train station which is one stop from the airport and a short drive from the hotel to the airport.

I enjoyed my stay at the Pentahotel, Leuven. The ambience is retro chic on entry. The checking in & out processes were easy. I requested for a quiet room and it was honoured so I had a good rest on days I stayed in. The location is great, close to most of the sights and a good walking distance from others. I walked to and fro the tours but I could see the buses and lots of cyclists moving around. Customer service was great. Liza was really helpful and friendly. She was mostly at the reception and always had a smiling face when responding to questions/enquiries. My room was clean and since they have gone eco green, you only request for cleaning services when needed, which I think is a great way to reduce waste. The basics were available in my room but I would suggest adding a tiny vanity kit for emergency situations. Also, the discounted coins they give upon checking in for drinks at the bar or in the lounge was a nice touch. In summary, Pentahotel is a nice place to stay and enjoy the beautiful city of Leuven. I did.

Price was acceptable at the time I was deciding whether to stay near the airport or not. I was not disappointed given the comfy room and free hotel airport shuttle ( shared with Holiday Inn EXPRESS next door and further up Holiday Inn, ....). It was raining in the morning when we were waiting for our big bus. As the bus did not turn right in front of Adagio or HI Express, we braced the winter rain to queue up with many people to board the big bus.

I love the relaxing two nights stay at the hotel. The food was not extremely fantastic but ok. For me a bit more salty than what I like. The room has window and love the morning sun coming into the room to give it a good energy. There’s a shuttle bus that goes to the airport and also pick up from the airport which is extremely convenient. Continental Breakfast is provided. Love the experience.
