Volcano Views: Nature's Resilience Unveiled
Information :
Usu Volcano Observatory
Crater observation deck
Minami-gairinzan Lookout
Duration : 60 - 120 minutes out and back
Operating hours: 8:15am ~ 5:45pm
The Usu Volcano Observatory, located in the picturesque region of Hokkaido, Japan, offers a fascinating and educational experience for all visitors. A trip to the crater observation deck and the Minami-gairinzan Lookout is not only a feast for the eyes but also a journey through the dynamic history of the Usu volcano.
A round trip to these remarkable viewpoints typically takes between 60 to 120 minutes, allowing ample time to absorb the breathtaking scenery and the rich geological history. The observatory operates daily from 8:15 AM to 5:45 PM, providing plenty of opportunity to plan your visit.
Usu Volcano has a captivating history of eruptions dating back to the 17th century. It has erupted approximately every 20 to 60 years, with its fiery activity occurring not just at the summit but also on the mountain slopes, such as the significant eruption in 2000 on the northwestern slope. After the major formation event of "O-Usu" in 1853, the summit experienced a period of dormancy for 124 years, until volcanic activity resumed between 1977 and 1982. This period of volcanic activity dramatically altered the landscape, leading to the formation of "Shinzan" (New Mountain), which rose approximately 180 meters, splitting the mountain into three distinct sections.
The journey to the crater observation deck offers a unique opportunity to witness the ongoing recovery of the forest ecosystem, slowly reclaiming the land that was once devastated by volcanic eruptions. The lookout points provide panoramic views of the crater and the surrounding lush green forests, which are gradually regenerating, painting a vivid picture of nature's resilience and the ever-changing earth.
Visiting the Usu Volcano Observatory is a profound experience that combines natural beauty, historical intrigue, and geological wonder. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or simply looking for a serene escape, this destination promises an unforgettable adventure.

Great location, nice and comfy accommodation

Mercure Kuala Lumpur@ Shaw Parade location: 152, Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, Pudu, 55100 Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
As a traveller, this hotel is an ideal choice as it is located in city area but not so dense traffic. There are lots of famous shopping malls, such as Lalaport Mall, Berjaya Times Squre, Bikit Bintang Mall and Lot 10 Mall etc, it's easy to walk from one mall to the other. Numerous of popular eateries at surrounding area, close to convenient stores, Monorail & LRT Station, it's really convenient!
The accommodation was excellent and comfortable with great amenities, I really appreciate that there has a water dispenser in the room, thumb up!
Their breakfast had lots of variety and was good for all tastes. Staffs were so professional and and accommodating.

Captivating & immersive wildlife experience
#singaporetrip
Located on Mandai Lake Road and the margins of Upper Seletar Reservoir, the Singapore Zoo is renowned for its 'Open Concept' rainforest environment. Set amidst lush greenery, offers a captivating and immersive wildlife experience, making it a amazing attraction for nature enthusiasts and families alike. The animal exhibits are fantastic, The Gaint Panda, Orangutan were my favourite as well as the various of birds. You can view the animals so closely, the animal shows are amazing too!
Open everyday from 8.30am - 6pm. Easily access by Khatib MRT Station and then taken Mandai Khatib Shuttle.
