Constantinou Bros Athena Royal Beach Hotel

We had a fantastic seven night stay at the Athena Royal Beach Hotel with friends and we were fortunate to have great weather with temperatures around 23/24 degrees every day. We stayed in a Superior Deluxe room on the Ultra All Inclusive Plan which gave us access to another breakfast buffet restaurant with a later closing time, unlimited visits to the a-la-carte restaurant Aphrodite and premium alcoholic drinks which worked very well for us. The hotel is extremely well appointed with plenty of food and drink options, lots of space around the hotel and pools and plenty to do if you want to be active. The room we booked had everything that we needed including a well stocked mini bar and was very well appointed and maintained. The Pygmalion buffet restaurant for both breakfast and evening meals we all agreed was excellent. There was plenty of choice for both hot and cold options, plates and the food were always hot and the quality of food on offer was very high. Likewise, Aphrodite restaurant was equally as good and we had three very nice evening meals there. Unfortunately, Olive Tree restaurant wasn't open for evening meals whilst we were there but we had lunch there most days which we enjoyed and there was plenty of choices on the lunch-time menu. We enjoyed the food and drinks so much that we didn't feel it necessary to go out for any meals or drinks although we may have done so if we were staying longer than one week. The drinks menu in the hotel was extensive with plenty of premium brands on offer, an extensive cocktail menu and a good choice of wines on the Ultra All Inclusive plan. Without exception, the staff that we encountered working in the restaurants, the bars and around the pool were all friendly, polite and hardworking and a credit to the hotel. The evening entertainment consisted of different singers/musicians which we found some to be very good (Elvis impersonator) and others ok but the song choices were good and we enjoyed most of the performances as did the other guests. The Roof Top Bar opened a couple of days after we arrived and was a great addition for a pre dinner drink provided the weather wasn't to 'windy'..... We booked three rounds of golf through the hotel (Elea x1, Minthis x2) as they offered us a small discount on the green fees when booking through them. We arranged our own transfers and used Andy's Taxi's who we would highly recommend as they were very friendly, flexible and on time! The only areas we think could be improved upon are the television channel options in the room. The English channels, sport and films were very poor and could do with upgrading. The hotel would also benefit from putting together some better 'golf packages' for guest's which could potentiallly bring in more business to the hotel.... Well where to start Can safely say we have been to many hotels all across Europe and beyond This is by far the best Every attention to detail has been made From a fantastic sea view room with a fully stocked mini bar to complimentary wine and fruit on arrival We were all inclusive which gave us Unlimited access to the a la carte restaurant Which we frequented almost every evening The staff were attentative and delightful the food was exceptional This also applied to the other restaurants on the complex An easy walk into paphos where there are numerous bars and restaurants if you fancy a change (about 20min) The last evening we were brought a complimentary bottle of champagne which is a fantastic touch In summary can't fault this place it idyllic peaceful and a wonderful experience Well done everyone at athena Royal with our gratitude and thanks

Arrived late Monday night to reception. Check in was smooth welcome drinks available but not offered to us . Room spacious and clean . Towels changed every day with tea milk and toiletries also . We had side view of sea which was fine . Food is exceptional . Everything you could need even a gluten free table for myself as coeliac with everything from cereals,cake,biscuits and soya milk . Coffee on tables with hot water and plenty of choice of teas & coffee machines for special coffees . We were half board so had lovely choices of meals cooked fresh by 2 chefs . Beware plates are very hot . Great choices every night of meals . There was nothing you could want for . They also labelled what each food was so I could double check for gluten . Staff friendly efficient and helpful even welcomed each night by assistant manager who was very helpful and welcoming . Rooftop bar was a great extra for pre dinner drinks and also large bar area on ground floor . Small shop selling water etc was a plus too . Bar and waiters come round the 3 pools every day. Added extra we could keep our room till 2pm on day of check out which was handy plus use of 2 curtousy rooms with shower and towels . Extra plus was beach/pool towels replaced every day so no wet towels to pack . In all there was no negative points for this hotel and would highly recommend. Should be 5* all the way

Visited for our son’s wedding which was held in the neighbouring Constantinou Athena Beach Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very comfortable & quiet. It was scrupulously cleaned daily by the housekeeping team. We stayed for 10 days with fully inclusive board. There is plenty of choice for dining with two nights al a carte included in our package. Staff are really friendly & we were well looked after. The three pools were clean, warm & surrounded by plenty of sunbeds, all with shade, table & chair. For those preferring to sit away from the pool there were many sunbeds on the grassy areas. The hotel is literally ‘on the beach’ if you prefer the sea. Good range of entertainment throughout our stay & there is a gym, spa service & shop! We tried really hard to think of something we would change & all we could think of were the biting insects which you can find anywhere! Definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday.

We have stayed in 5* hotels and they have been more like 3* this is rated 4* and should really be 5* . The staff are wonderful nothing is too much for them . The food is fabulous . Not one night was there a bad meal , something for everyone unlike other hotels where we have stayed and ended up eating out everyday because the food has been terrible . We were upgraded by the hotel to a one bedroom executive suite which is a great room to be in . The hotel is spotless even around the pool area, I cannot fault this hotel at all .

Just returned from a wonderful three week holiday at the Royal Athena Beach Hotel. Everything was simply wonderful. Great staff and they all work so hard they are a great credit to the hotel. Housekeeping were super and very hard working, providing a turn down service in the evening. We were on half board and thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous buffet spread both at breakfast and dinner. Only minor critic, if we wanted to eat in the a la Carte restaurant, there was no 'allowance' given so we would technically be paying for two dinners. I'm not a big eater and can usually only manage two courses, we would have been happy to pay any difference, but even to have say €20 allowance given per person should really be considered. We were lucky to have a cabana which allowed us to enjoy a lovely breeze to escape the increasing temperatures. However, they do need some attention, wooden surrounds were badly damaged on many of them, curtain drapes dirty and torn, birds were nesting in the rafters meaning the loungers and other areas were having mess over them. They were rather grubby/scruffy and we certainly would not have paid €40 per day, had one not been included in our room type. There seemed to be a light bulb moment towards the end of May when Summer officially started, so Friday/Saturday/Sunday evening's entertainment moved outside to the main pool area. This was on until 11.00pm. This meant many rooms experienced music noise in the evening, we can't speak for other guests, but this was certainly an inconvenience to us. I spoke to the Asst Manager at breakfast the following morning, who was very understanding. Perhaps they should canvass guests on whether this is something they actually want. There certainly didn't seem to be many guests there on those three evenings. It was also a lot of extra work for pool/maintenance staff moving beach loungers/tables around to accommodate this, and then having to move it all back again. Given the heat in the evenings I would have thought it would be more comfortable to listen to the entertainment in the comfort of air conditioning. Whilst there a couple of small '*******' we shall definitely be back next year. Thank you Royal Athena Beach Hotel for allowing us to have a lovely relaxing holiday 😎.

Just spent another lovely two weeks in one of the best hotels in Paphos. Shame that again it didn't get off to a good start when we were allocated a smaller room on the 4th floor that we paid for. Eventually got the correct elite class junior suite with land view that we booked but it took four days. Spotlessly clean hotel and the cleaning lady who looked after our room was again brilliant. Gardens and sunbeds are beautiful and well maintained. Disappointed that that Florin the restaurant floor manager spoilt one dinner visit by raising his voice aggressively towards us when we requested a specific table instead of the one he allocated. All of the rest of the staff that we met were again lovely. Karishma in the restaurant deserves a special mention for her wonderful smile and cheerful service every day. Andreas the Assistant Manager also deserves a mention for his professional attitude and excellent customer service towards all guests. His daily greetings and conversations made our stay memorable. Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting which is spotlessly clean.Stayed in a elite suite with a land view ,the room was very spacious.Our cleaner was a lovely lady and very friendly,she kept our room spotless nothing was to much trouble for her.The food was very good with plenty of choices and the waitresses were wonderful especially Karishma.Only one thing in the dining room really upset us when we overheard a dining room manager shouting at staff and having a stand up argument with a guest which was uncalled for.He really needs to act in a more professional manner and learn people skills.I think his name was Fabbini (not sure if that’s spelt correctly).Very disappointed in the General hotel manager,never acknowledged guests,it appeared he couldn’t be bothered. The assistant manager Andreas made up for it he was so nice and spoke to everyone in a lovey manner.Overall the rest of the staff were wonderful,very hard working
