Horrible experience…I don’t know how this hotel has a 4 star rating. Firstly, the front desk team, one of the suitcases got lost (transfers decided to swap half of us) and told us to inform the hotel it was missing. The team acted so slow to this matter, no care in the world and did not try their best to retrieve this. We had to even buy Skype credit to contact the airline , and when I instructed them to let me speak to the transfers company (after 2/3 attempts), the man on the phone said he didn’t speak English and cut me off. The communication and how they dealt with the situation was very slow, the team at front clearly need training. Anyways, we were so frustrated at this point so me and my friend complained again for the 5th time but more angrily because as you can imagine it was the first day/night there and we have a situation like this. After this happened, we went back to our room and magically a call came through to say they found out from the transfer that it has been found and it will come in 30 mins. No apology whatsoever and to make it even better, we were told to come to the reception to collect, bearing in mind our room was on the other side of the hotel and we were so tired at this point. I was glad in the end it was retrieved but only because we had to keep going back (the hotel didn’t bother providing us updates when they said they would) and we had to highlight that it is very important due to medication being in the luggage and to deal with the matter steadily and with high importance. God forbid, if anything happened to my friend during those hours when she needed medication…Also, the room we were given, had a luggage and two shirts in which had to be removed, slightly confusing as the room was reserved. Imagine it took us 3 times to ask them to have a look at the fridge…bloody brilliant. To top it off, this hotel does not provide receipts for exchange, had to ask twice and still nothing yet they understand so I had to spend my remaining dinar in the airport as the airport needed a receipt which this hotel never gave…lovely! Didn’t even do one thing right during this stay. The food was average, restaurant/bar staff not welcoming and were unfriendly, acted as if we were not there. The security team however were very welcoming and friendly. All we wanted was a good stay, we were not expecting royalty but if they can’t even do the basics right and act like this, it makes me think how did they get this 4 star…I would not recommend staying here, I wish I had booked another hotel in the area. Don’t be fooled by the rating, I would stay elsewhere.
