Alawi Home is the perfect stay on the Kenyan coast. The house is beautiful, constructed in the traditional Watamu architectural style with a large Makuti roof. It is situated right on the beach, next to several nice beach shacks and also a small boutique. But the winning factor is the warm and welcoming staff who went above and beyond for our comfort, including when it came to food, transport, boat excursions, restaurant recommendations and more. It felt like we were staying in a private villa! Thank you to Roslyn, Martin, Edson, the fantastic chef and all other members of Alawi Home for the wonderful stay. We can’t wait to return!

i travel to the beach often for the food ,ocean view and definitely the architecture. I love beautiful swahili styles and have turned my home to a beach vibe after visiting Alawi for the first time, the place smells incredible from the nice airy rooms to the rooms and the lounge. I loved swimming at the clear blue oceans and walking along the beach in the afternoon. please note: A boutique its a petite hotel not bigger and everything is under the same villa, though there is an option of choosing a large villa for groups.
