SpringHill Suites Gainesville Haymarket

This hotel is spanking clean and new. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Fitness room was great. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were professional. I love that they like to keep the hotel quiet. Location is central to restaurants and shopping.

With a new job, I expect to be travelling to a company office nearby a couple of times a year. My colleagues suggested this hotel and glad they did. The room is comfortable from the bed and pillows, to the couch and the bathroom. Everything is modern and up to date as it looks to be a new property. I needed a good night sleep and I got one. The property is also in a mall complex so there are plenty of options for food and other stores within walking distance. I'll be sure to be back at this hotel on future business trips to the area.

I'm at this hotel as I write this review. It's midnight on a cold November night and room 315 has no heat since I checked in at 10pm. I called the front desk, Audrey states she has to reset the system and it takes awhile. I call back down 3 times after another 30 minutes of no heat since they reset it and they refused to answer the phone. Called a 4th time and was told they are too busy to answer phone. They knew the heat wasn't working when they assigned the room. They dont perform quality checks on the rooms, they expect the guests to do that. Its an inconvenience to switch rooms at midnight. At over 215.00 a night it would be decent to provide heat for guests so we dont have to sleep with layers and hoodies on to stay warm until checking out in the morning. I knew I should have gone to the Hilton in Haymarket. Its been awhile since I stayed at a Marriott brand due to consistent issues and I believe I will keep it that way.

We arrived for a wedding on Sat. Oct 7th at 3pm. There was a flurry of activity in the lobby as one wedding was leaving and we were all arriving. Our room was not ready, which was disappointing, until the front staff explained that lots of the folks from the other wedding requested late check-out, and they were cleaning the rooms as fast as they could. With all the confusion, the staff handled everyone with patience and politeness. The next day, my parents needed to move to the other zero entry handicapped room (307) that was occupied by a wheelchair user the night before. (my wheelchair user brother was in the other room, 209). The staff went out of their way to help them move all of their belongings to the new room. That was extremely helpful. The rooms were very comfortable all the way around. the only weird thing was the fridge only had an "on for 2 hours" button, or "off for 8 hours" button. We had to keep our cold stuff in the cooler for fear the fridge would turn off in the middle of the night. Of note: Saturday night we were all at a sit-down dinner in the dining area for a rehearsal dinner. All of the doors were open. We were listening to the groom's mother give a speech when the crew decided to clean the ladies room. We heard all the flushing of the toilets as each was cleaned. The girl standing at the entrance saw we were all in the other room and did nothing. And I would like to give a shout-out to Neesa the bartender. She was all by herself when about 40 people descended upon her for drinks at the bar. She stayed cool and steady the whole time.

I would have given the hotel a 5 star but we paid $259 and $229 a night but they only clean every other day. We have been traveling from Florida and stay in only Marriotts. This is the only one that hasn’t cleaned every day. The location was great because it’s around lots of restaurants and shops.

I have stayed more than once at this location because I work in the area but am an out of towner. Occasionally I have needed last minute accommodations and have not been disappointed. Staff is always pleasant and helpful and there is always coffee on as I'm leaving at 0630! I have always had a clean and ready room when I have arrived and occasionally that is last minute. I would love to know the scent that is used throughout the facility as it is clean and understated but adds a lovely touch. I know that Marriott has their scents available and would like to use it at home as well.

After landing in Dulles airport at midnight and not wanting to drive all night to get home, we checked in to the Springhill Suites and had a good rest. The room was spacious and quiet. The manager on duty the next morning was super friendly. We had a quick breakfast and we were on our way.

We traveled out from the District to stay the night for a concert. With the lack of good transportation to/from the venue, this hotel is truly an oasis close by and worth looking into if you're planning to do a show at Jiffy Lube Live. Front desk staff courteous and helpful, above average breakfast items and a nice pantry in the lobby. It's very convenient to several restaurants and shops in the area. Room was solid for Springhill, everything seems new. Hotel has policies around noise, especially with concert goers frequenting the hotel. I appreciated this quite a bit. It's a short drive over to venue if there is no traffic, but it's also not a bad walk (about 20-30 mins) and you might be waiting longer in your car anyhow.

I travel and stay at Marriott hotels around a 100 nights a year and especially appreciate it when a member hotel steps up when I find myself in a bind. I ended up in Gainesville when business plans changed and needed a room at the last minute. At first it appeared there were no rooms available but Terri and John were problem solvers and found a way to get me a room. I ended up staying an extra night too. Miguel, the manager, was very helpful and accommodating too. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The location is very close to fun restaurants and shopping.
