My recent stay at Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel in Vilankulos was truly enchanting, and I found the hotel's beauty, especially the stunning gardens, to be a captivating aspect of the overall experience. The beach, pool, and the diverse range of activities available all contributed to a delightful stay, complemented by the friendly and attentive staff. The customer experience manager was particularly friendly. However, I did notice several areas where the hotel could make improvements to further elevate the guest experience. Upon arrival, the airport pick-up experience did not meet expectations. While a young lady with a sign was waiting, there was a 45-minute wait in the car park due to delayed vehicle availability. The non branded mini-vans used for transportation also did not meet the expected standard for a boutique hotel. Improving the airport pick-up service in terms of waiting time and transportation quality would greatly enhance the initial guest experience. Additionally, the time taken for room service and restaurant meals was longer than anticipated for a hotel of this calibre. For instance, my room service order for a prawn salad took nearly two hours to be delivered, and a la carte meals in the restaurant could take up to an hour. The reason given for the delays was that the hotel had a “full house” and the kitchen could not cope with the number of guests. These extended wait times detracted from the overall dining experience and should be addressed. The menu at the hotel, while offering a reasonable food and wine selection, became repetitive and boring after a few days. Introducing different varied set menus for different days would provide guests, particularly those staying for more than a few days, with more dining options, potentially improve the wait times and enhance the overall experience. Furthermore, expanding the limited breakfast menu would offer guests more choices and improve the morning dining experience. The beach in front of the hotel was picturesque, but it could be enhanced by seaweed and rubbish clearance. There was significant build up of seaweed on the beach during our stay there. A cleaner beachfront would create a more visually appealing and enjoyable environment for guests. While the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, we were disappointed that the menu on Christmas Day remained unchanged. Introducing a special Christmas-themed menu would have added charm to the holiday atmosphere and made the dining experience more festive and memorable for guests. Lastly, the WiFi signal was erratic at times. Improving the coverage and signal strength throughout the property and in the hotel rooms would enhance the connectivity experience for guests. I hope that this feedback is taken as constructive suggestions to further enhance the already wonderful guest experience at Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel.
