I received an email shortly before I was due to check in inviting me to check in online. Unfortunately, the web developers responsible for the online check in process lacked competence and my UK passport number was reported as not having a valid format. Maybe this was why check-in at the reception was painfully slow. What made matters worse was, having struggled with heavy luggage to get to my room, the door key card hadn't been properly programmed so I had to return to a busy reception. Not a good start.
There was a long hair stuck to the mirror and another one on the bed. These were not my hairs. It made me doubt the cleanliness of the hotel.
The water pressure in the shower was poor and the sink had this absurd arrangement which might have made sense to some trendy designer but was totally impractical. A weird, slanted surface in the sink (I've never seen such a thing before) meant that water splashed back at you.
I think the seating in the reception area was meant to look contemporary. It didn't. It looked like something more befitting of a budget hostel than what was supposedly a 4 star hotel.
