Awful place to stay. Their bar kept me awake till 4am with their loud music and drinkeness. Rude staff and not helpful

Hotel Los frailes was a very nice hotel for the area. We stayed after visiting Chitchen Itza about 45 mins away. The hotel was beautiful- authentic, local, yet colonial feel. It was very clean and spacious, good parking, nice cold AC in the room, great shower, people were helpful and friendly, the included breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend

Clean hotel but quite far away from the restaurants and the real city center. The building and the garden as such were beautiful. However, the surrounding of the hotel were very rubbish. The most annoying issue was the noise of the trafic that made sleeping difficult. The breakfast was simple. Dried pieces of bread instead of tost, every morning same choises during our six nights stay.

When I reserved the hotel the total price was about $162 USD. During the check in they charged me $170 USD due to the change in currency.
We had an issue with breakfast. Even though we were there quite early by 7:45-8:00 they were already run out of the toast and jam. They didn’t have an orange juice, however it says orange juice in the menu. And the waiter took an order of orange juice.
The variety of breakfast foods was limited, small portions.
The pool was dirty with lots of leaves and insects.
Overall, the room was nice and clean, the bed was cozy.

This is a very nice hotel and it’s in terrific shape. A bit out of the way but hey, that makes a terrific place a little more affordable.
