Quinta do Campo

Diego is a passionate host who loves meeting, greeting and providing guests with a memorable stay in his family home. We enjoyed our two-night stay in one of his apartments with a nice outdoor balcony and large bathroom. His historic Quinta (Diego is 7th generation), was filled with treasures and lovely rooms in the main house to retreat. We were able to enjoy a fabulous meal in town at Vinha D'Alhos and an adventurous hike to Nazare Beach/Sitio from the Quinta.

This is a beautiful large estate home and renovated farm that has been in the same family for several centuries. There are private suites with kitchenettes, a bridal suite, banquet spaces, babysitting, shuttle services, and includes a breakfast buffet. There are still some vats and old farm equipment in working condition that are worth checking out, especially if the owner (who also gives you a personal welcome) tells you the interesting history of the property. There is a beautiful panoramic viewpoint from the gardens, and you can experience a lovely, picturesque stroll. We had a great stay and would love to visit again! It would be better to make a reservation directly with the owner for larger parties to avoid miscommunication from the travel apps. We found the owner to have flexibility , which you can’t get through travel apps.

What an amazing property – a greatly loved historic monastery that has been in the same family for seven generations. On arrival we were met by the owner, Diego, and he explained the history of the property and the farm. He is such a welcoming host and passionate about the house, its history and cultural significance. We stayed in a double room in the main building. The bedroom had a queen size bed and there was an ensuite bathroom. We also had use of a lovely lounge area, traditional library and outdoor seating areas. There is an ‘honesty bar’ where guests record what they drink – such a great idea. Continental breakfast was also included and was a real treat to sit in the amazing older part of the property for breakfast. For dinner we walked to a local restaurant in the village - recommended by Diego and certainly a lovely meal and great service. This is such a special property and we loved our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

On our trip through Portugal, my family and I stopped for a few days at Quinta do Campo ( Valado dos Frades) to do the route of the Monasteries and taste the Portuguese gastronomy of that region. With a history of 900 years, an incredible view and spiritual peace, one of it's owners: Diogo, seventh generation of the owner family, welcomed us. He was very kind and passionately told us the history of the Quinta do Campo. It has large, comfortable, and quiet apartments. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed a lot this charming place . We highly recommend it.

This will be our most memorable place on our nine week trip. We absolutely loved staying here. The owner is fantastic, very kind and attentive. We loved the family history. We had an apartment. Loved the fireplace to stay warm every night. It was very clean and quiet. I would ask everyone to stay here to experience it. We were there five nights, could have stayed longer. It was less than ten minutes to Nazaré.

Um local muito calmo e acolhedor, que respira História. Os anfitriões são pessoas muito simpáticas, que nos receberam que se fôssemos da família e foi-nos feito um breve resumo da história da quinta. A estadia foi muito agradável. Vamos repetir, com certeza.

Un lugar que es pura historia. El dueño y es muy amable y es todo un mérito por su parte seguir conservando el establecimiento y sus instalaciones. Las habitaciones son sencillas al igual que los baños. Cuenta con servicio de desayunos, servidos en un enclave peculiar. Los productos son buenos, aunque se queda un poco justo. Cuenta con un Honesty bar, pero para cuando te das cuenta faltan bastantes cosas. Se encuentra aislado, por lo que se necesita el coche para todo. Opción sencilla y relación calidad-precio un poco cara.

Très beau domaine, lit très confortable, chambre propre comportant une baignoire, lavabo, toilette et bidet. Le petit-déjeuner est complet pains de 3 sortes, beurre et confiture, 2 gâteaux maison différents, jus d'orange, café thé et chocolat chaud ! Nous reviendrons sans aucune hésitation Merci pour l'accueil !
